My 2021 Hive Highlight - What a Journey.

I hope you're doing well today. It's way less cold and rainy today so I need to get out of the house at some point. Thanks to @dreemsteem, I didn't miss out on this awesome challenge. I have been struggling to keep up with all these contests and whatnot so, much appreciated. This is my entry for the 2021 Hive Highlight challenge being hosted by @guiltyparties.

Hive Highlight

It's so hard to pick just one thing that stands out to me as a highlight. I feel like I've accomplished so much on Hive, and I'm forever grateful for all the love and support. I think for the sake of keeping it to just one moment, I'll say that Hive Fest was my 2021 Hive Highlight. I had never been to a virtual conference or anything like that so it was a pretty amazing experience. If only I had a VR headset so I could use my hands, but nonetheless, it was awesome! Hive Fest allowed me to come out of my very introverted shell. I met some amazing people there and I talk to most of them regularly via Discord. I've made real friends and real connections here on Hive that I will never forget.

Couldn't help but share this selfie I grabbed with @dreemsteem. I had so much fun encountering random people that had never heard of Hive and trying to explain it to them. We even encountered a guy that very quickly let us know that we're all just "a bunch of friggin nerds" LOL. I literally laughed until my face and side were hurting. This is how you create memories. By having fun and being yourself. I've never been confident in my writing or anything like that, but all you amazing people have changed that. I feel like I have a voice now. I feel like I have a purpose now.

Hive Fest was one of the best times I've had in years and it was all in a virtual space. How amazing is it that without even leaving out homes, we can make real connections with people all over the world? Invaluable is the only word that comes to mind.

That Hive fest seriously was so fun - even though it wasn't in person - it was MUCH better than i expected it to be. And i loved getting to meet you! There were some people I knew there, and I tend to like - drift towards my comfort zone

but you were BRAND NEW to me. and you made it feel SO easy to be near you and just chilling out - laughing - all that

i can still hear your voice in my head too! isn't that weird? like after just meeting you once ... hahaa although wait - i've heard your voice In PYPT still too hahahahaha

but yes - that was seriously a great highlight :) I cannot agree more with your entire post. genuine connection.

that is so important to me - and it really happened there. and yes. even the knucklehead who had us busting up laughing with his awkward (and slightly tender???) insults ROFLLLLLL

right?

i was so insulted and appreciated at the same time.

I tend to do the same - drift toward people I know, but I knew no one there... so I just walked up to groups of people and checked the vibe. Instantly, I knew you were my kind people. I felt like the dude in Stepbrothers.. "did we just become best friends?!"

Every time I read any post, I heard your voice in my head saying "THEEEEEEE END" LOL

Man sounds like a great time. Hopefully there is a Hive fest 2022 and I will kick it with you guys. @dreemsteem is pretty cool and also extremely talented. Not gonna lie she actually intimidates me as well. Cause I read something she posted and then my work and I am like man sounds like a kindergartener wrote mine. But we are all here to have fun and share some laughs.
