2023 LEO Goals

It's almost 2023, and I have not been feeling well. It's my second time having COVID, and it's definitely not as bad as the first. Still sucks though. Now that I can't go anywhere, I finally have a chance to get my LEO goals post out. If you haven't yet posted your 2023 LEO goals, there's an amazing contest going on for people that post and hit their goals. So - over the past few months I have been pretty aggressively building my LEO stack and reached a personal goal of over 26k LP. Let's take a dive into my goals and strategy. Also - the image above was generated using the Craiyon AI image generator. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but I thought it was pretty cool.

First - let's start with the overall goal for the year. According to the contest, because I am a Lion (15k - 50k LP) I'm going to have to at minimum double my stack. At the time of writing this post, I have a total of 26,466.74 LP. This means in order to achieve my goal in 2023, I'm going to need to double up to 52,933.48 LP. This would upgrade me to a Leader of the Pack which is pretty sick too! I've been stacking LEO every single month to power up big chunks for LEO Power Up Day, with my biggest powerup this month over 4,000 LEO.

Now, adding 26k LEO Power to my stack over the course of 1 year does sound like a lot... But when you really break it down it is nothing. Considering if I only power up on LPUD each month, I'll need to power up a minimum of 2,205.56 LEO per month for the next 12 months to hit my goal.

So what's my strategy to ensure that I hit my goal of becoming a Leader of the Pack? It's pretty simple, actually.

  • Number one - increasing my HP delegation to @leo.voter. I'm but a tiny fish with only 5400 HP, but I just delegated another 1k HP today. This pays out at around 16% APR in LEO so that's just LEO on autopilot. I'll be adding to my HP stack throughout the year with post/curation rewards and increasing that delegation steadily.

  • Number two - Consistent curation on Threads and long form content. I've pretty-well optimized my voting as much as possible, so all I have to do is do it consistently. As far as creating content, I have slowed down a lot as I burned myself out on it pretty hardcore in the first half of the year. I also founded a crypto project called GM:FRENS which was born on Threads, and that takes a significant amount of my time. If you care about increasing engagement and building Threads up, check out @gmfrens. I spend a ton of time Threading and curating over there, so if you want some decent votes you should be Threading too.

  • Number three - market buys with all liquid HBD that accumulates in my wallet from creating/curating. This is as simple as it gets, and I already do this. I let the HBD sit... Wait for HIVE to dip, and trade it for HIVE. Then when I see LEO dip in relation to HIVE, I will swap the HIVE for LEO then power up on the following LPUD. In addition to using HBD to buy LEO, I'll be using many other Hive Engine tokens to swap for even more LEO.

  • Number four - participating in any and all LEO related contests. This is something I have slacked off on pretty hard because of my busy workload, but I plan on joining in on more of the LEO fun. I'll be watching @leogrowth for any new events throughout the year, and participating in any community-launched contests.

  • Number five - dollar-cost averaging with any income I can spare from my work. Buy HIVE when it dips, and then follow the same process I mentioned above to maximize the amount of LEO I can get with each buy. This will likely be around $100 per month depending on finances.

With all kinds of awesomeness coming from the LeoFinance team, it makes a lot of sense to build your LEO stack anyway. We have the upcoming new user interface that is going to radically change the way we use LeoFinance as a whole. It looks almost identical to Twitter, and puts Threads front and center which is huge for onboarding. I think we are going to start seeing a massive amount of new users coming onboard from inside and outside of Hive. This means the advertising revenue will increase by drastic amounts.

Why should you care about the advertising revenue that LeoFinance pulls in? Well, pretty soon we will start seeing our LEO Power increase as advertising revenue increases. These are just a couple reasons that you might want to stack up and participate in the My LEO Goals 2023 contest. There's a lot more coming down the pipeline and you will probably wish you had more LEO very soon.

What is your goal?
