Zombie Outbreak Survival

As you probably know by now, I'm an avid WAX user. I have been using the WAX blockchain since it launched, mostly to buy worthless NFTs that will sit in my wallet forever. A lot of what I use it for on a daily basis is gaming. I play quite a few different games on the WAX blockchain, just as I do on the Hive blockchain with Splinterlands and Rising Star. There's no denying though, that WAX is 10x more active in terms of people actually playing different games and such. The NFT tools and all the amazing things you can do with it already make it an incredibly powerful gaming blockchain.

I discovered Zombie Outbreak Survival around 1 year ago, which is hard to believe. Time flies, I guess. I don't remember how I came across it, but it was right before there was actually a a game. It was nothing more than a whitepaper and some art, just like a lot of games that have been talked about for a while. This was different though. It felt like there was actually going to be a cool game coming out. You know how you see things that look incredible on paper but take years and years before there's an actual product? I won't throw shade but I'm sure you can all think of something.

Shortly after the discovery, the game launched in alpha. In the beginning, there was only one thing to do. Get Survivors, collect armor and weapons, and collect food. This was the MVP, and it got a lot of traction really fast. It was the first NFT based zombie survival game. I mean, who wouldn't want to play that?!

Since I started playing the game daily, so much has been added. We've got an in-game NFT store, and an NFT marketplace for secondary market sales. We've got fully functional multiplayer missions, and crafting for weapons & armor. Most recently, Era 3 launched which brought even more crafting features like scrapping items and introduced in-game resources - WAX tokens. We also got the first iteration of battling! This is a huge step, because we've all been surviving, killing zombies, and stacking up resources for nearly a year.

It's time to put those NFTs to work in some boss battles! As you play the game, you can earn ZILVER - the game token, which has all sorts of utilities (and solid tokenomics in my opinion) and NFTs. Your Survivors will take damage and even die if they take enough damage. This means you have to manager your Food, Medicine, and Survivor NFTs very well. Trust me, these new boss battles eat up a lot of Food really fast, and also introduce Stamina. Stamina can only be restored by spending ZILVER.

I'm not super familiar with how all of the mechanics in the new Era work, but I can say that it's a pretty fun resource management experience. I'm also still figuring out the crafting, as it seems a little complicated. Not only do you have to discover your own recipes, but you have to keep up with 5 different resource tokens. I'll figure it out eventually lol.

The main thing I need to do is acquire more Survivors so I can make sure I've always got some running for Food and some Battling. The amount of Food burned by battling is pretty wild, so I definitely have to increase my food NFT income. Survivor packs are 100 WAX, and each includes one random Survivor. The floor price for Survivors on secondary market is 130 WAX so there's potentially some profit to be made flipping those. Gunna have to revisit that when volume picks up.

I'm going to have to buy some more survivor packs to step my game up. I can see this game becoming very popular as it continues to progress and become more user friendly. I enjoy it as it is, but if I could turn that into some real earnings that would be sick too. I care more about playing a good game than playing to earn crypto, but that's definitely something to consider. You can earn ZILVER and sell it for WAX which means you can play to earn. You can also sell your NFTs you earn.
