I wouldn't say HBD has an unfair advantage over HIVE. HBD is just a stable coin that can be staked for 20% APR. HIVE is a utility token that can be staked and allows you to earn curation rewards plus 2.86% APR on itself.

I think it simply gives the people that want more passive rewards a better option.
