Este año ha sido un infierno para la mayoría de los clubes de primera línea, lo que se ha hecho evidente en este traspaso de verano. Las negociaciones de los contratos han sido mucho más lentas de lo normal y también la contratación y presentación de nuevos jugadores ha sido lenta últimamente. Gran parte de este hecho se ha debido a la crisis financiera que ha hecho naufragar a la mayoría de los equipos y algunos se encuentran más endeudados que la mayoría.
No es ningún secreto que Covid ha sido un factor casual y no se puede restar importancia al papel que ha desempeñado esta pandemia. Algunos equipos también han sufrido mucho, ya que los ingresos han sido difíciles de conseguir, mientras que otros podrían culpar a la mala gestión de los fondos. No todos los clubes de primera línea están en este lío, ya que algunos han sido inteligentes en la gestión de los fondos, mientras que otros tienen la suerte de contar con el respaldo de inversores con grandes cargos petroleros.
