Greetings Lions,

As part of the Leo Alpha project, I intend to produce two posts per week. The first one, each Wednesday, will look at various metrics of how LeoAlpha specifically, and the Leofinance platform overall is performing. The @leo.stats account does a great summary of metrics, but this post will dive a bit more into platform usage, sources of traffic and how we are travelling in the bigger picture.

LeoAlpha twitter.

The first area of focus I have been working on has been setting up and positioning the twitter account for LeoAlpha. Early results are already looking promising. So far, I have shared out 15 different posts from various Leo authors in tweets.

At the time of posting, the LeoAlpha account has 79 followers. We have received 7312 tweet impressions in the first few days.

The best performing tweet was this one sharing a post by @acesontop about Alien World. It was retweeted by the project account, which always drives traffic and brings external eyeballs on to Leofinance.

My plan moving forward is to share a number of posts each day on to twitter to aim for more visibility and growth of external traffic coming to Leo.

LeoAlpha Reddit.

I have established a Reddit community, but have not started to use it yet. My plan is to share in there all the posts I share on Twitter. It would be great if other Leofinance community members that are on Reddit could help out by cross-posting those posts into the relevant community. Our Reddit traffic has really dropped off, and it can be a valuable source of people coming to visit Leofinance with a bit of effort.

Metrics: Alexa.

Leofinance's Alexa ranking has been on the improve over the last few months, climbing from 67904 90 days ago to 48929 today. This is a great sign that things are on the improve here.

While Alexa rankings is not the most important thing, it shows we are on the right track and the website is gaining in authority and traffic. The key thing we can do to help here is to keep pushing out more quality content, and keep our engagement levels up through comments and interactions.

The other little tip I have, is to add a few links at the end of your post. Linking to other, related content, gives people somewhere else to go. Even if it isn't to a post of your own, keeping people on Leofinance and reading other posts boost the websites metrics. 14.7% of Leofinance's traffic now comes from Google searches. Lets give these people that find a Leo post somewhere else to go.

Source for Alexa stats

Metrics: Simple Analytics.

The other tracking site I will share stats from on a weekly basis is Simpleanalytics. It is particularly useful for seeing where traffic is coming from, what external sources are bringing people to Leo. I will also use it to keep an eye out for posts that are doing well on Google, to learn what is working for us, and to explore ways to capitalize on, and highlight those successes.

Did you know, the single most viewed post of the last 12 months on Leofinance has brought over 19,000 page views to Leofinance from google? That post is this one, a post 7 months ago from @handtalk5. That post has brought more traffic to Leo than any other single post, and what reward did it earn? 1.2 LEO. While we can't go back and reward old posts, it is my sincere hope that through increased focus and curation we can ensure that authors that gain these kind of results get the recognition and attention they deserve moving forward. I'll certainly be on the look out for these sorts of gems, and do my best to boost their visibility.

As you can see, google is the dominant source now of traffic to Leo. It is fantastic that our site is gaining such results, and just goes to show that efforts by various people have turned Google into a great source of traffic. My goal is to keep this momentum up, and also to revive Twitter and Reddit as other significant sources of traffic.

I'll leave it at that for today, thanks to everyone that has welcomed this new project into the Leofinance scene. On the weekend, I will release the first weekly curation post, with a roundup of the best content (in my humble opinion) this week.

Thanks everyone for the support, if you see a LeoAlpha tweet or Reddit post, feel free to show some love, and more importantly show some love to the content creator that posted the article. The goal of this account is to highlight the best that Leo has to offer.

Cheers,

JK.

P.S. Incase you missed it, here is our launch post from a few days ago, and here is a tweet from Leofinance to show some love to and help boost the LeoAlpha twitter account.
