If you watched the weekly "Wen Soon" show, AKA the weekly Leofinance AMA, you would know that the community pages feature for Leofinance is coming soon.

Today, I want to talk about a small detail that will be really important for us to make the most of this new feature.

Post Tags.

The tag's are going to be crucial for the community pages. For goodness sake, if you write a post about something, make sure it is one of the tags. For example, a post about Thorchain will only appear on the Thorchain community page if it is tagged as a Thorchain post.

Posting about Thorchain, and having all your tags as "LEO, HIVE, proofofbrain, vyb, cent, bht, neoxian, pal, archon, whatevertribe" means your post is not adding value for Leofinance. Using 10 tribe tags, and nothing related to the content in the post is a waste. Yes you might earn a couple of tokens worth $0.00001 each, but that content is not categorized properly, It's probably bad for SEO (I guess) and soon it will not appear in the community page.

The first 5 tags should be content related.

Lets look at a few recent examples:

Perfect. The first 5 tags all relate to the content of the post. Then you can put tribe tags or whatever after, where it does not matter as much.

Again, that is really good. For those new to Leofinance, the first tag you see is the community tag for Leofinance and can't be changed or removed if you post from Leofinance.io. But then the next four tags are content specific. Would this post have brought thousands of visits to Leo if it was not tagged like this? Maybe, maybe not.

Now for a few examples of what I'm talking about.

These were the tags for a post about Stepn. Now, if we have a Solana community page soon, or a Stepn page, or a "Move2earn" page, this post (which I have not identified as this is not about criticizing anyone) will not appear in those community pages.

Here is another. Can you tell what that post is about? It's about Cake, on BSC. So when community pages go live, this post won't appear on the "Cake" page, or the Binancesmartchain (or BSC) page at all. Now, everything else about this post was great. It earned decent rewards, had plenty of interaction even though it was an outward facing post. Decent SEO on it also.

This post is simply a shout out to the community to put a little thought into the tags you use. Maximizing tribe income is nice, but you may miss a lot of LEO by not tagging for the content. If a big curator goes looking through the Thorchain community page, because that is their favorite crypto, and your post is not there to be seen because you want a tiny fraction of a tribe token for a tribe that is practically worthless these days, what impact could that have on your post earnings.

The other shout out is to use the #leoalpha. Not on everything. But on posts you make about hidden gems, up and coming projects, or "the next big thing". @khaleelkazi mentioned in the Wen Soon show that a LeoAlpha community page is likely. If you want to be seen on that page, add the tag. Not as one of the first tags, but down the list. It will also help me find your post to curate it.

For those that don't know, @leoalpha is a project headed by @jk6276, looking to curate external focused content and looking for Alpha that the Leofinance community can profit from. We want to hear about small-caps, new launches, "the next thing" market trends, so we can highlight these things and help our community find the next 10X before it happens, not after.

We need more Alpha, and would love to see more posts about what's coming. As the team in the @leofinance AMA said, the top 10 in a few years in the next bull market will probably be very different to the top 10 now. The stars of the last cycle have done nothing this cycle, most have gone backwards. We are looking for the projects on the move to be the stars of the next cycle. What's going to hit big in 2023/4. Not an easy task, but we have a great big community of crypto fanatics to dig out some gems.

TLDR: Make sure your first few tags are relevant to the content please.

Thanks for reading, keep an eye out for Alpha by following @leoalpha here on Hive, or here on Twitter.

Cheers,

JK.
