The physical location of a banking corporation. This also applies to other financial institutions such as credit unions[.
Today, they are commonly referred to as "brick and mortar" locations.
A branch can house financial advisors, mortgage officers and other professionals. A visit to a branch is often required to open up certain types of accounts.
The bank branch is also where the safe deposit boxes are located.
