Enables Ethereum users to find websites or send/receive tokens or coins using a simple name as opposed to the string of characters usually associated with the cryptocurrency wallets on this blockchain. This is similar to Domain Name System (DNS) but it is decentralized.

ENS has a registry smart contract that contains:

  • Domain names
  • Subdomains
  • Owners
  • Resolvers

It also allows the owner to continually update all the information.
