How to get a Hive Account


A database maintained by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis containing data on more than 816,000 time series metrics.

This includes:

The data is pulled from the many U.S. Government agencies.

There are a number of services provided by the St. Louis Fed Bank in regards to data archival and updates.

  • ALFRED - retrieve economic data on specific dates in history.

  • GeoFRED - data mapping tool

  • CASSIDI - provides data on banking industry including depository institutions.

  • FRASER (The Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research) - This was begun in 2004 to digitally archive and preserve U.S. history.

    -Documents include:

    1. Publications of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors
    2. Publications of each of the Federal Reserve banks
    3. Statements, speeches and archival materials of Federal Reserve policymakers
    4. Government data publications
    5. Statistical releases
    6. Congressional hearings
    7. Books
    8. Reports by various organizations
  • IDEAS - bibliographic database dedicated to Economics which indexes over 4,100,000 items of research, including over 3,700,000 that can be downloaded in full text.
