The overseer in each state (in the US) for the state banks. It supervises all activities and affairs pertaining to the banks.
Entities that typically are under their regulatory authority:
- state-chartered banks
- credit unions
- savings and loan associations
- trust companies
- money order companies.
- money transmitters
The regulations will vary from state-to-state.
