Well, those of us who Live in Hyperinflation are that part, the survivors of disasters, in which we have "neither art nor part".

I don't remember the last time I saw real inflation figures in my country, yes, Venezuela. It used to be part of the period report, but even the printed newspapers have disappeared. Then I just stopped looking for them.

I am from the generation of the 80' I grew up with an ideal type, when I am 25, I will be graduated, I will have my house, my car, a stable job and I will start planning to have a child. (because I said I was going to have one before I was 30 but after I was 25).

All that "dream" based on my parents' lifestyle, by the age of 25 they already had a lot of the things mentioned in my list.

And here I am at 34, with two college degrees, but not practicing, with a half-built house, a beautiful baby, no car and a new plan every day.

I wake up every day pending the value of the $ to know what capital I have to acquire the necessary supplies. I check every day what may be missing at home to understand little by little what I can afford, eating in the street is a luxury, fried chicken disappeared from my plates, I spend months without seeing my relatives, I haven't bought underwear for years and so goes the story in regrets I could say, all this trying to summarize it like this, the basic and primordial for a Venezuelan is to acquire Food so all the financial resources that come in goes there.

With what you spend on buying a meal in the street, you can make "a market" that gives you enough to eat for several days, the tickets to travel increase every day and you think about the same thing with the expense in that ticket I can buy food and extend it a little longer, I have underwear that I had not used or that is still relatively new and I can wait a little longer to go shopping.

That is part of what is lived in a Hyperinflation, from my part of the plot.

What is the hardest part of living in hyperinflation? Living every day attentive to the change of prices, that your purchasing power decreases every day because of a lack of planning, because of a chaos that started and we have no idea when it will end.

What was the trigger for hyperinflation in your country? From my perspective I think it was when all the oil plants were stopped. Because of an oil strike. We were a country that was a power in oil distribution and we "focused" only on that as national income.

From there and of course with all the failed decisions in terms of financial resources and administration, prices began to vary, the valuation rate, unemployment increased and with this the informal workers increased, causing a lack of control in the management of prices.

What advice would you give to a foreigner who is about to experience hyperinflation in his country? Keep calm and do not despair, invest in $ to maintain a "stable" reserve, define what is really important to live comfortably at home. Some tastes will decrease.

No recuerdo la última vez que ví cifras reales de la inflamación en mi país, si, Venezuela. Antes era parte del reporte del periodo, pero hasta los periódicos impresos han desaparecido. Luego simplemente deje de buscarlos.

Soy de la generación de los 80' crecí con un ideal tipo, cuando tenga 25, ya voy a estar graduada, tendré mi casa, mi carro, un trabajo estable y comenzaré los planes de tener un hijo. (porque decía que lo iba tener antes de los 30 pero después de los 25).

Todo ese "sueño" basado en el estilo de vida de mis padres, a la edad de 25 ya tenían mucho de lo mencionado en mi lista.

Y aquí estoy a mis 34 años, con dos títulos Universitario, pero no ejerciendo, con una casa a medio construir, con un bebé hermoso, sin carro y todos los días con un plan nuevo.

Me levanto todos los días pendiente del valor del $ para saber con qué capital cuento para adquirir los insumos necesarios. Reviso cada día que puede faltar en casa para ir comprendo poco a poco lo que va alcanzando, comer en la calle es un lujo, el pollo frito desapareció de mis platos, paso meses sin ver a familiares, tengo años que no compro ropa interior y así va el cuento en lamentos podría decirse, todos esto tratando de resumirlo así, lo básico y primordial para un Venezolano es adquirir Comida así que todo el recurso financiero que ingresa se va hacia allá.

Con lo que gastas en la compra de una comida en la calle, puedes hacer "un mercado" que te dé para comer varios días, los pasajes para viajar aumentan todos los días y piensas en lo mismo con el gasto en ese pasaje puedo comprar comida y alargarlo un poco más, tengo ropa interior que no había utilizado o que está todavía relativamente nueva y puedo esperar un poco más para ir a comprar.

Eso es parte de lo que se vive en una Hiperinflación, desde mi parte de la trama.

Entonces;

¿Cuál es la parte más difícil de vivir en hiperinflación? Vivir todos los días atentos al cambio de los precios, que tú poder adquisitivo disminuya cada día por una falta de planificación, por un caos que empezó y no tenemos idea de cuando va terminar.

¿Qué has aprendido de esta situación? A planificar mis gastos y garantizar lo básico en casa.

¿Cuál fue el detonante de la hiperinflación en tu país? Desde mi perspectiva creo que fue cuando se detuvieron todas las plantas petroleras. Por un paro petrolero. Fuimos un país potencia en distribución de petróleo y "nos enfocamos" solo en eso como ingreso Nacional.

Desde allí y por supuesto con todas las decisiones fallidas en cuanto a recursos financieros y administración, los precios empezaron a variar, la tasa de valoración, el desempleo aumento y con esto los trabajadores informales aumentaron, causando descontrol en el manejo de precios.

¿Qué consejo le darías a un extranjero que va a comenzar a vivir una hiperinflación en su país? Mantén la calma y no desesperes, invierte en $ para mantener una reserva "estable", define que es lo verdaderamente importante para vivir cómodo en tu casa. Algunos gustos van a disminuir.
