Chaos Legion General Sale: Evaluation of Possible Purchase Cases + My Buying Strategy
In a few hours, Phase 2 of the Chaos Legion card pack sale will end, and four days after the end of Phase 2, the General Sale will begin.
Splinterlands is my favorite blockchain-based game and I would have liked to have participated in the previous two phases, Pre-sale and Phase 2, but I prioritized logic over heart. In my previous posts on Splinterlands, I explained in detail, with calculations and reasoning, why I did not participate in the previous sale phases. I have always considered the value of VOUCHER tokens highly overvalued and so far my strategy of patience and waiting has been definitely successful. As you can see from the following image, I have chosen to sell all the VOUCHER tokens I have received until January 6, 2022.
I received 71.24 VOUCHER tokens during the presale and received 158.12 VOUCHER tokens during the Phase 2 sale. From the sale of 229.36 VOUCHER tokens I earned a total of 1779.77 SWAP.HIVE tokens.
All of the earnings I made from the sale of the VOUCHER tokens I will invest in the purchase of the CHAOS LEGION card packs. **
Would it be worthwhile to buy a pack of Chaos Legion cards
* Who asked me the same question during the pre-sale or phase 2 always received the same answer: NO! No, because the value of VOUCHER tokens reset all the benefits obtained from the purchase.
Now instead my answer is YES! (except in a single case of purchase) Obviously this is not a financial advice but it is only my personal evaluation that could be wrong in the future but I hope not ;)
I will be purchasing Chaos Legion card packs for the following reasons:
Reason 1: A Chaos Legion card pack is a positive estimated profit purchase (except in one case).
The estimated value of a Chaos Legion card pack is: - $5.57 based on calculations at: https://www.splintercards.com/ (using both potions) - 5,818$ based on the calculations of https://peakmonsters.com/packs (using both potions)
important note: the values listed above are estimated values and not certain values and the real value will be a value that will be closer and closer to the estimated value as the number of packs of cards purchased increases as specified in the note indicated by the Peakmonsters website (next image).
The legendary and alchemical potions play an important role in determining the estimated value of a card pack.
In fact, as indicated by the Peakmonsters website (https://peakmonsters.com/packs), opening a card pack without potions results in an estimated value of $3,713.
This means that whoever buys and opens a pack of Chaos Legion cards without potions will have a negative estimated profit.
Someone who buys and opens a Chaos Legion card pack with 5 Legendary potions and does not need to buy potions because they received them from completing daily and seasonal quests will have a positive estimated profit: +0.681$.
Those who buy and open a Chaos Legion card pack with 5 Legendary potions previously purchased from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website (cost 5 potions: $0.20) will have a positive estimated profit but less than the previous case: +0.481$.
Someone who buys and opens a Chaos Legion card pack with 5 Alchemical potions and does not need to buy the potions because they received them from completing daily and seasonal quests will have a positive estimated profit: +0.611$.
Those who buy and open a Chaos Legion card pack with 5 Alchemical potions previously purchased from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website (cost 5 potions: $0.25) will have a positive estimated profit although lower than the previous case: +0.361$.
Someone who buys and opens a pack of Chaos Legion cards and uses both Alchemical and Legendary potions (5+5) and does not need to buy the potions because they received them from completing daily and seasonal quests will have a higher positive estimated profit than the previous cases: +1.57$.
Someone who buys and opens a pack of Chaos Legion cards and uses both Alchemical and Legendary potions (5+5) previously purchased from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website (total potion cost: $0.45) will have a positive estimated profit even though lower than the previous case: +1.12$.
So the first good reason to buy a Chaos Legion card pack is that it is a positive estimated profit purchase, but only if you choose to open a card pack with enough potions. Opening a pack of cards without potions is definitely a bad choice!
Reason 2: Each Chaos Legion card pack allows you to increase the valid score for the Airdrop of SPS tokens.
Each Chaos Legion card pack is worth 300 points in the SPS token airdrop score count and therefore allows you to receive more SPS tokens and also more VOUCHER tokens.
Reason 3: Each Chaos Legion card pack allows you to participate in one or more card airdrops.
Those who purchase Chaos Legion card packs before the sale of the four millionth card pack will participate in 11 airdrops.
Every time a million packs of cards are sold there will be an airdrop and that is why those who want to buy Chaos Legion packs during the General Sale should do so as soon as possible and that is what I will try to do ;)
Estimated profit in case of multiple purchases of packs of cards
Splinterlands has provided a bonus to reward those who buy more than 100 card packs in a single transaction.
Buying a pack of cards and opening it without potions is not convenient, so now I will calculate the estimated profit for the three cases of purchase that grant a bonus and consider only the case where you buy or use both potions.
During the General Sale the VOUCHER tokens will no longer be essential for the purchase of Chaos Legion card packs but they will continue to be useful because they will be the requirement to receive the bonus packs.
Case of Purchase: 100 packs of cards + Purchase Both Potions
Whoever buys 100 packs of cards is entitled to a bonus of 10 packs (10%). To get the bonus, they must use 10 VOUCHER tokens that have a total value of $24.7(January 12, 2021) Those who do not have enough potions must purchase them and the total cost is $49.5. The cost per pack of cards will be 4.31$ with a total investment of 474.2$
The estimated profit is +138.5$.

Purchase Case: 100 packs of cards + Both Potions (Found in chests)
Whoever buys 100 packs of cards is entitled to a bonus of 10 packs (10%). To get the bonus he must use 10 VOUCHER tokens that have a total value of $24.7 (January 12, 2021) Those who have accumulated enough potions from completing missions will have one less cost than in the previous case. The cost per pack of cards is $3.86 with a total investment of $424.7**.
The estimated profit is +188$
Hardly anyone who buys 500+ packs of cards will have a sufficient number of potions received for free, and therefore will have to purchase all or part of them. For this reason, the following purchase cases will all involve buying potions from the Splinterlands Shop. **
Purchase Case: 500 packs of cards + Purchase Both Potions
Whoever buys 500 packs of cards is entitled to a bonus of 75 packs (15%). To get the bonus, they must use 75 VOUCHER tokens that have a total value of $185.25 (January 12, 2021) Those who do not have enough potions must purchase them and the total cost is approximately 218.25$. The cost per pack of cards will be 4.18$ with a total investment of 2403$**
The estimated profit is +$799.25.

Purchase Case: 2000 packs of cards + Purchase Both Potions
The last purchase case is the one related to 2000 packs** of cards
Whoever buys 2000 packs of cards is entitled to a bonus of 400 packs (20%). To get the bonus he must use 400 VOUCHER tokens which have a total value of $988 (January 12, 2021) Those who do not have a sufficient number of potions must purchase them and the total cost is approximately 873$ The cost per pack of cards is 4.10$ with a total investment of 9861$
The estimated profit is +$3507.
Conclusion
With the calculations in this post, I wanted to give a general idea to those who want to participate in the General Sale and have not yet decided on their purchase goal.
I will buy 500 packs of cards.
To open all the card packs I will need 5750 potions (2875 Alchemical and 2875 Legendary).
I have about 300 legendary potions and 300 alchemical potions on hand accumulated from completing daily and seasonal quests.
From the sale of the Voucher tokens I have obtained 1779 SWAP.HIVE tokens whose value is 2437,230.
The profit that I have obtained will allow me to easily reach my purchase goal and I will try to buy the packs of cards shortly after the beginning of the General Sale so that I will be sure to participate in all subsequent Airdrops.

Tra poche ore terminerà la fase 2 della vendita dei pacchi di carte Chaos Legion e dopo quattro giorni dalla fine della Fase 2 inizierà la General Sale.
Splinterlands è il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito e mi sarebbe piaciuto partecipare alle due fasi precedenti, la Pre-sale e la Fase 2, ma ho dato la precedenza alla logica piuttosto che al cuore. Nei miei precedenti post su Splinterlands ho spiegato in dettaglio, con calcoli e ragionamenti, il perchè non ho partecipato alle fasi di vendita precedenti. Ho sempre ritenuto il valore dei token VOUCHER altamente sopravvalutato e fino ad ora la mia strategia di pazienza e di attesa è stata decisamente vincente. Come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente ,io ho scelto di vendere tutti i token VOUCHER che ho ricevuto fino al giorno 6 gennaio 2022.
Ho ricevuto 71.24 token VOUCHER durante la prevendita e ho ricevuto 158.12 token VOUCHER durante la Fase 2 di vendita. Dalla vendita di 229.36 token VOUCHER ho guadagnato un totale di 1779.77 token SWAP.HIVE.
Tutto il ricavato che ho ottenuto dalla vendita dei token VOUCHER lo investirò nell'acquisto dei pacchi di carte CHAOS LEGION. **
Conviene acquistare un pacco di carte Chaos Legion durante la General Sale?
* Chi mi ha posto la stessa domanda durante la prevendita o la fase 2 ha ricevuto sempre la stessa risposta: NO! No perchè il valore dei token VOUCHER azzerava tutti i vantaggi ottenibili dall'acquisto.
Adesso invece la mia risposta è SI! (tranne in un singolo caso di acquisto) Ovviamente non è un consiglio finanziario ma è solo la mia personale valutazione che potrebbe rivelarsi sbagliata in futuro ma io spero di no ;)
Io acquisterò i pacchi di carte Chaos Legion per i seguenti motivi:
Motivo 1: Un pacco di carte Chaos Legion è un acquisto a profitto stimato positivo (tranne in un unico caso)
Il valore stimato di un pacco di carte Chaos Legion è di: - 5.57$ in base ai calcoli del sito: https://www.splintercards.com/ (utilizzo di entrambe le pozioni) - 5.818$ in base ai calcoli del sito https://peakmonsters.com/packs (utilizzo di entrambe le pozioni)
Nota importante: i valori sopra elencati sono valori stimati e non certi e il valore reale sarà un valore che si avvicinerà sempre di più al valore stimato con l'aumentare del numero dei pacchi di carte acquistati come precisato nella nota indicata dal sito Peakmonsters (immagine successiva).
Le pozioni leggendarie e alchemiche giocano un ruolo importante nella determinazione del valore stimato di un pacco di carte.
Infatti, come indicato dal sito Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/packs), aprire un pacco di carte senza pozioni determina un valore stimato di 3.713$.
Questo significa che chi compra e apre un pacco di carte Chaos Legion senza pozioni avrà un profitto stimato negativo.
Chi compra e apre un pacco di carte Chaos Legion con 5 pozioni Leggendarie e non ha bisogno di comprare le pozioni perchè le ha ricevute dal completamento delle missioni giornaliere e stagionali avrà un profitto stimato positivo: +0.681$.
Chi compra e apre un pacco di carte Chaos Legion con 5 pozioni Leggendarie precedentemente acquistate dalla sezione Shop del sito di Splinterlands (costo 5 pozioni: 0.20$) avrà un profitto stimato positivo ma inferiore al caso precedente: +0.481$.
Chi compra e apre un pacco di carte Chaos Legion con 5 pozioni Alchemiche e non ha bisogno di comprare le pozioni perchè le ha ricevute dal completamento delle missioni giornaliere e stagionali avrà un profitto stimato positivo: +0.611$.

Chi compra e apre un pacco di carte Chaos Legion e utilizza entrambe le pozioni Alchemiche e Leggendarie (5+5) precedentemente acquistate dalla sezione Shop del sito di Splinterlands (costo totale pozioni: 0.45$) avrà un profitto stimato positivo anche se inferiore al caso precedente: +1.12$.
Il primo valido motivo per comprare un pacco di carte Chaos Legion è che è un acquisto a profitto stimato positivo ma a patto che si scelga di aprire un pacco di carte con un numero sufficiente di pozioni. Aprire un pacco di carte senza pozioni è una scelta decisamente sbagliata!
Motivo 2: Ogni pacco di carte Chaos Legion permette di aumentare il punteggio valido per l'Airdrop dei token SPS.
Ogni pacco di carte Chaos Legion vale 300 punti nel conteggio del punteggio dell'airdrop dei token SPS e quindi permette di ricevere un quantitativo di token SPS maggiore e anche un quantitativo di token VOUCHER maggiore.
Motivo 3: ogni pacco di carte Chaos Legion permette di partecipare ad uno o più Airdrop di carte.
Chi acquista i pacchi di carte Chaos Legion prima della vendita del quattromilionesimo pacco di carte parteciperà a 11 airdrop.
Ogni volta che un milione di pacchi di carte sarà venduto ci sarà un airdrop ed è per questo motivo che chi vuole comprare dei pacchi di carte Chaos Legion durante la General Sale dovrebbe farlo il prima possibile ed è quello che cercherò di fare io ;)
Profitto Stimato nel caso di acquisti multipli di pacchi di carte
Splinterlands ha previsto un bonus per premiare chi compra un numero di pacchi di carte superiore a 100 in un'unica transazione.
Comprare un pacco di carte e aprirlo senza pozioni non è conveniente e quindi adesso calcolerò il profitto stimato per i tre casi di acquisto che garantiscono un bonus e considererò solo il caso in cui si acquistano o si utilizzano entrambe le pozioni.
Durante la General Sale i token VOUCHER non saranno più indispensabili per l'acquisto dei pacchi di carte Chaos Legion ma continueranno ad essere utili perchè saranno il requisito per ricevere i pacchi bonus.
Caso di Acquisto: 100 pacchi di carte + Acquisto Both Potions
Chi compra 100 pacchi di carte ha diritto ad un bonus di 10 pacchi (10%). Per avere il bonus deve utilizzare 10 token VOUCHER che hanno un valore totale di 24.7$ (12 gennaio 2021) Chi non ha un numero di pozioni sufficienti deve acquistarle e il costo totale è di 49.5$ Il costo per pacco di carte sarà di 4.31$ con un investimento totale di 474.2$

Difficilmente chi acquista 500+ pacchi di carte avrà un numero sufficiente di pozioni ricevute in modo gratuito e quindi dovrà acquistarle in tutto o in parte. Per questo motivo i casi di acquisto seguenti prevederanno tutti l'acquisto di pozioni dallo Shop di Splinterlands. **

Con i calcoli di questo post ho voluto dare un'idea generale a chi vuole partecipare alla General Sale e non ha ancora deciso il suo obiettivo di acquisto.
Io comprerò 500 pacchi di carte.
Per aprire tutti i pacchi di carte mi serviranno 5750 pozioni (2875 Alchemiche e 2875 Leggendarie).
Ho a disposizione circa 300 pozioni leggendarie e 300 pozioni alchemiche accumulate dal completamento delle missioni giornaliere e stagionali.
Dalla vendita dei token Voucher ho ottenuto 1779 token SWAP.HIVE il cui valore è di 2437.230$
Il guadagno che ho ottenuto mi permetterà di raggiungere agevolmente il mio obiettivo di acquisto e cercherò di acquistare i pacchi di carte poco dopo l'inizio della General Sale in modo da avere la certezza di partecipare a tutti gli Airdrop successivi.
