DEC Farming on Cub Finance, DEC value, Untamed Pack, My end of Season Reward and Considerations

Hello Hivers and Splinterlands players, Today an exciting new feature was announced: in less than 48 hours DEC tokens will be added to the Farms options in Cub Finance. It will then be possible to put DEC to work for a passive reward in CUB tokens. You can read the announcement and more details at this link: This is great news for all Splinterlands players but also for the whole Hive ecosystem. Splinterlands and Leofinance are two great projects born and grown on Hive and this new connection between them will bring a great benefit to all parties involved including Hive. A token that has more uses is also more probable to increase its value.
Let's take a look at the graph and the value of DEC tokens.
Compared to 6 days ago, the value of 1 DEC relative to the value of HIVE has increased in value, although it is still far from the value that DEC tokens had just over two months ago (10 January 2021).
Today 17 March 2021 1 DEC is worth 0.00203 HIVE and has increased in value by 5.73% compared to its value on 11 March 2021.
However, if we compare the value that 1 DEC had on 10 January 2021 with its current value, the loss in value is very large (-70,28%).
This loss in value is mainly due to the increase in value of HIVE which is an extremely positive event for all of us Hivers.
It is more interesting to look at the trend in the value of DEC tokens compared to the dollar value.
In the last six days the dollar value of DEC tokens has increased by 10.29%.

On the other hand, if we look at a time interval of just over two months, the dollar value of 1 DEC has decreased by -10.70%.
Looking at the trend in the dollar value of DEC tokens the situation is much less negative and the signs of recovery are there and the latest announcement of the introduction of DEC into Cub Finance farms should produce a further increase in value.
The decrease in value of DEC tokens over the last couple of months has prompted me to stop buying cards from the market in order to optimise my card collection. Right now my goal is to sell the cards I don't use in battle because I can accumulate more DEC than I did two months ago. I will start buying cards again when the value of DEC tokens is higher so that I can spend fewer DECs.
I continue to monitor the value of DEC tokens because if the value is below a certain level, it may be worthwhile to buy Untamed card packs from the Splinterlands shop.
The cost of a pack of Untamed cards is 2000 DEC which according to the current values of DEC tokens is equivalent to spending $1.49002.
According to information from the **Peakmonsters website (https://peakmonsters.com/packs) the estimated value of 1 pack of Untamed cards has decreased from 6 days ago and is:
- $0.76 in the situation without potions
- 0.96$ when using Alchemical potions
- 1.08$ when using Legendary potions
- 1.35$ in the situation where both Alchemical and Legendary potions are used
The cost of the potions is as follows:
- Alchemical potion: 49 DEC = $0.02495.
- Legendary potion: 39 DEC = 0.03134$**.
I calculated the cost of 1 pack of Untamed cards based on the three ways of purchasing them (credits, DEC and Hive Engine) and I also considered the cost per pack of cards when purchasing blocks of 100 or 500 packs of cards from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website.
You can see the results of my calculations summarised in the following image.
Looking at the various costs, it's clear that it's never cheap to buy a card pack at this time because the estimated value of a card pack is $1.35 if you use 5 alchemical potions and 5 legendary potions per card pack.
Even in the case of the lowest cost (1 Untamed on Hive Engine), the total cost (card pack cost + 5 alchemical potions cost + 5 legendary potions cost) exceeds the estimated value of a card pack.
There are only two cases where the estimated value is greater than the purchase cost.
**First case:
- I buy a pack of cards from Hive Engine: cost 1.18540$.
- I don't have to buy the legendary and alchemical potions because I found them in the daily or fortnightly reward chests. In this case the difference between the estimated value and the cost is positive and not negative: 1,35 $ - 1,18540 $ = + 0,1646 $**
**Second case:
- I buy 500 packs of cards in bulk from the Splinterlands shop: cost per pack $1.29567
- I don't have to buy the legendary and alchemical potions because I found them in the daily or fortnightly reward chests. Again, the difference between estimated value and cost is positive and not negative: 1,35 $ - 1,29567 $ = + 0,05433 $**
I have given myself a rule: I will only buy a pack of Untamed cards if the difference between the estimated value and the cost of the pack of cards is greater than 0.20 $

My end of season reward
The last season of Splinterlands ended a few days ago. I finished the season in the Gold I league and received a total of 30 chests**.
In the following picture you can see the cards I found in the chests. **
I found 10 cards out of 30 chests. The chests can contain three types of prizes: Cards, DEC, Potions**. The probability of finding a card in each chest is 1/3, so I found the most likely average number of cards.
I found 7 common cards, 2 rare cards and 1 epic card. The most valuable card I found is Fire Spitter which has a market value of $0.400.

DEC and Potions
I also found 10 Potions and a total of 980 DEC tokens**.
Today **980 DEC are equivalent to the value of 1.98 HIVE (Highest BID on LeoDex/HiveEngine) and the dollar value is $0.73
Conclusion
Now let me do some calculations:

value of cards found in the chests: 0,849 $
-
total value of DEC tokens found in the chests: 0,73 $**
The total reward was 0.849 $ + 0.73 $ = 1.579 $.
A reward that didn't make me jump for joy but Splinterlands is a fun game that rewards its players for playing and for that reason every reward is good.

DEC Farming su Cub Finance, DEC, Untamed Pack, la mia ricompensa di fine stagione

Ciao Hivers e giocatori di Splinterlands, oggi è stata annunciata una interessante novità: fra meno di 48 ore i token DEC saranno aggiunti tra le opzioni delle Farms di Cub Finance. Sarà quindi possibile mettere i DEC a lavorare per ottenere una ricompensa passiva in token CUB. Puoi leggere l'annuncio e maggiori dettagli a questo link: Questa è un'ottima notizia per tutti i giocatori di Splinterlands ma anche per tutto l'ecosistema di Hive. Splinterlands e Leofinance sono due grandi progetti nate e cresciute su Hive e questa nuova connessione tra di loro porterà un grande vantaggio a tutte le parti coinvolte compresa Hive. Un token che ha più utilizzi ha anche più probabilità di incrementare il suo valore.
Diamo un'occhiata al grafico e al valore dei token DEC.
Il valore di 1 DEC rapportato al valore di HIVE fa registrare un incremento di valore anche se siamo ancora lontani dal valore che i token DEC avevano poco più di due mesi fa (10 gennaio 2021)
Oggi 17 marzo 2021 1 DEC vale 0,00203 HIVE e ha incrementato il suo valore del 5,73% rispetto al valore che aveva il giorno 11 Marzo 2021.
Se invece confrontiamo il valore che 1 DEC aveva il 10 gennaio 2021 con il valore attuale la perdita di valore è molto grande: -70,28%.
Questa perdita di valore è dovuta principalmente all'aumento di valore di HIVE che è un evento estremamente positivo per tutti noi Hivers.
E' più interessante guardare l'andamento del valore dei token DEC rispetto al valore in dollari.
Negli ultimi sei giorni il valore in dollari dei token DEC è cresciuto del 10,29%
Se consideriamo invece un intervallo di tempo di poco più di due mesi il valore in dollari di 1 DEC è sceso del -10,70%.
Guardando l'andamento del valore in dollari dei token DEC la situazione è molto meno negativa e i segnali di ripresa ci sono e l'ultimo annuncio dell'introduzione dei DEC nelle farms di Cub Finance dovrebbe produrre un ulteriore incremento di valore.
La perdita di valore dei token DEC degli ultimi due mesi mi ha spinto a interrompere l'acquisto di carte dal mercato per ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte. In questo momento il mio obbiettivo è vendere le carte che non uso in battaglia perchè posso accumulare un numero maggiore di DEC rispetto a due mesi fa. Riprenderò ad acquistare carte quando il valore dei token DEC sarà maggiore in modo da spendere un numero minore di DEC.
Continuo a monitorare il valore dei token DEC anche perchè se il valore è sotto un certo livello potrebbe essere conveniente comprare i pacchi di carte Untamed dallo shop di Splinterlands.
Il costo di un pacco di carte Untamed è di 2000 DEC che in base ai valori attuali dei token DEC equivale a spendere 1,49002$
In base alle informazioni del sito **Peakmonsters (https://peakmonsters.com/packs) il valore stimato di 1 pacco di carte Untamed è sceso rispetto a 6 giorni fa ed è di:
- 0.76$ nella situazione in cui non si hanno pozioni
- 0,96$ nella situazione in cui si utilizzano le pozioni Alchemiche
- 1.08$ nella situazione in cui si utilizzano le pozioni Leggendarie
- 1.35$ nella situazione in cui si utilizzano entrambe le pozioni Alchemiche e Leggendarie Il costo delle pozioni è il seguente:
- pozione Alchemica: 49 DEC = 0,02495$
- pozione Leggendaria: 39 DEC = 0,03134$**
Ho calcolato il costo di 1 pacco di carte Untamed in base alle tre modalità di acquisto (crediti, DEC e Hive Engine) e ho considerato anche il costo per pacco di carte quando si acquistano blocchi di 100 o 500 pacchi di carte dalla sezione Shop del sito di Splinterlands.
Puoi vedere i risultati dei miei calcoli riassunti nell'immagine seguente.
Guardando i vari costi è evidente che in questo momento non è mai conveniente comprare un pacco di carte perchè il valore stimato di un pacco di carte è di 1,35$ se si utilizzano 5 pozioni alchemiche e 5 pozioni leggendarie per ogni pacco di carte.
Anche nel caso del costo più basso (1 Untamed su Hive Engine), il costo totale (costo pacco di carte + costo 5 pozioni alchemiche + costo 5 pozioni leggendarie) supera il valore stimato di un pacco di carte.
Ci sono solo due casi in cui il valore stimato è maggiore del costo di acquisto.
**Primo caso:
- acquisto un pacco di carte da Hive Engine: costo 1,18540 $
- non devo acquistare le pozioni leggendarie e alchemiche perchè le ho trovate all'interno dei forzieri delle ricompense giornaliere o quindicinali. In questo caso infatti la differenza tra valore stimato e costo è positiva e non negativa: 1,35 $ - 1,18540 $ = + 0,1646 $**
**Secondo caso:
- acquisto in blocco 500 pacchi di carte dallo shop di Splinterlands: costo per pacco 1,29567 $
- non devo acquistare le pozioni leggendarie e alchemiche perchè le ho trovate all'interno dei forzieri delle ricompense giornaliere o quindicinali. Anche in questo caso la differenza tra valore stimato e costo è positiva e non negativa: 1,35 $ - 1,29567 $ = + 0,05433 $**
Io mi sono dato una regola: Comprerò un pacco di carte Untamed solo se la differenza tra il valore stimato e il costo del pacco di carte è maggiore di 0,20 $
**
La mia ricompensa di fine stagione
L'ultima stagione di Splinterlands è terminata pochi giorni fa. Ho concluso la stagione in lega Gold I e ho ricevuto un totale di 30 forzieri**.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le carte che ho trovato nei forzieri. **
Ho trovato 10 carte su 30 forzieri. I forzieri possono contenere tre tipologie di premi: Carte, DEC, Pozioni**. La probabilità di trovare una carta in ogni forziere è di 1/3 e quindi ho trovato il numero di carte mediamente più probabile.
Ho trovato 7 carte comuni, 2 carte rare e 1 carta epica. La carta di maggior valore che ho trovato è Fire Spitter che ha un valore sul mercato di 0,400 $.

DEC e Pozioni
Ho trovato anche 10 Pozioni e un totale di 980 token DEC**.
Oggi **980 DEC equivalgono al valore di 1,98 HIVE (Highest BID su LeoDex/HiveEngine) e il valore in dollari è di 0,73 $
Conclusione
Adesso faccio un po di calcoli:

valore carte trovate nei forzieri: 0,849 $

Il profitto totale è stato di 0,849 $ + 0,73 $ = 1,579 $.
Una ricompensa che non mi ha fatto fare i salti di gioia ma Splinterlands è un gioco divertente che premia i suoi giocatori per giocare e per questo motivo ogni ricompensa è buona.
**Quale gioco tradizionale e centralizzato ti premia per giocare?
La risposta è ovvia:
nessuno!**
