Farming Tales News and OneUp Cartel Investment
**Farming Tales is an NFT-based farming simulator built and developed on the WAX blockchain.
Those who read my Hive blog know that blockchain games are one of my passions and also know that I write/play/invest on all gaming projects developed on the Hive blockchain because Hive is my favorite blockchain project.
Farming Tales is the first project outside of Hive that I saw potential in and decided to invest in.
More precisely, there are two peculiarities of Farming Tales that convinced me to invest in it:

it has beautiful graphics and uses a 3D graphics engine (very few blockchain-based farming games use a 3D graphics engine)

it has some NFT that are linked to real goods of real farms** (saffron, honey,...).
Although Farming Tales is not a project developed on my beloved Hive it is still connected to Hive because it has created a community (https://peakd.com/c/hive-151527/created), it has created a account (@farmingtales), it runs a weekly contest to incentivize its players to post on Hive and it has as future goal to integrate on the Hive blockchain (Q3 - 2022).
My gaming/investment activity on Farming Tales is double because I play **two roles:
- I am a simple player who decided to invest in the purchase of NFT and tokens
- I am an operator of the Cartel project of the beautiful community called OneUp**.
OneUp is a community of Hive's blockchain ocused on NFT games and blockchain games (https://www.1up.zone/).
OneUp Cartel is: - a Meta Gaming Guild - a Meta Curation - a Meta Dividend Token
I've been managing OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales since January 29, 2022 but before I show the financial results I've achieved in 39 days I want to share and showcase Farming Tales news and updates from the past week (March 3 - March 9).
Farming Tales News:
AMA #8
On March 7, 2021, the eighth Farming Tales AMA (Ask Me Anything) was held where the development team answered player questions and announced news and plans for the month.
The AMA was broadcast live at https://www.twitch.tv/farming_tales and can be reviewed again today by logging on to the same address.
Buildings Blend
On March 11, a **new blending option will be introduced that will affect a portion of NFTs of type Building. Currently it is only possible to do blending on animal type NFTs. On March 11 this possibility will be expanded to the following NFTs:
- Stables
- Shelters
- Chicken Coops
- Vegetable Gardens**
The blendig operation will be possible using Voucher tokens according to the following mechanism:
**From Common -> to Rare:
- 1 Common Building + 9000 SESTs Voucher = 1 Rare Building.
- 2 Common Buildings + 2000 SESTs Voucher = 1 Rare Building**.
From Rare -> to Epic:
- **1 Rare Building + 2X 9000 SESTs Voucher = 1 Epic Building
- 2 Rare Buildings + 2000 SESTs Voucher = 1 Epic Building**.
The operation will be executable from https://neftyblocks.com/c/farmingtales/blends/ and also in this operation the SEST tokens will play a fundamental role.

New Animals are coming
During the last AMA and in the Farming Tales "Annuncements" discord channel, the introduction of new animals was announced: Farming Tales' Animals Series 2.
All animal-type NFTs in the game today need a building-type NFT in order to be used. The animals in Series 2 will be "free " and untethered from this requirement. As written in the announcement message on Discord they will be released in limited numbers and will be purchasable using SEST tokens.
Product System
Currently, all Harvest operations allow you to get a certain amount of SEST tokens as a reward. The Farming Tales development team is working quickly to try and introduce a new production system later this month. The new production system will allow NFT Gardens and Animals to produce food and vegetables instead of the current SEST tokens.
OneUp Cartel Investment
Initial Budget
After showing and sharing the latest news announced in the last week from Farming Tales it's time to financially evaluate OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales and here is my sixth weekly report as a OneUp Cartel operator.
**OneUp Cartel has invested in the Farming Tales project:
- 500 HBD (Jan. 29, 2022)
- 250 WAX** (March 2, 2022)
Based on today's values of HBD tokens and WAX tokens the current total value of OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales is $569.13 (previous report: $566.25).
In the following image you can see the total amount of WAX tokens I had available to invest: 1833 WAX tokens.
The Purchased Assets
CPU
On the WAX blockchain you need to have a minimum amount of resources (NET, CPU, RAM) in order to perform certain operations.
For example, all Harvest operations within the Farming Tales game consume the CPU resource (which recharges with time) and for this reason I initially allocated 37 WAX tokens to the CPU resource.
In the last week I noticed that the operations of buying and selling SEST and CBIT tokens consumed a lot of CPU and for this reason I increased the CPU resource by adding 14.54 WAX tokens in stacked arriving at a total of 51.54 WAX tokens (following image).
The NFTs purchased
In order to begin your farming adventure on Farming Tales, you must make an **initial investment that consists primarily of purchasing at least one of the following card combinations (NFTs):
- Hen + Coop
- Goose + Shelter
- Goat + Stable
- Cow + Stable
- Sheep + Stable
- Pig + Stable
- Garden + Seed
- Lumberjack
- Fishing Pier
- Hive
- Greenhouse**

To date, I have chosen all of the NFTs I have purchased based on a calculation of the estimated annual ROI, a calculation I made for each combination of NFTs on the market before making each purchase.
In the last week I have not purchased any new NFTs but the total number of NFTs has decreased because I have sold some NFTs.
The total number of NFTs owned by OneUpCartel is 20:

To purchase the NFTs I listed above, I spent a total of 1585.58 WAX. To purchase some cards such as the GreenHouse I used SEST tokens and to calculate the purchase cost I considered the value of the WAX tokens I used to purchase the SEST tokens needed.
In the following table you can see the list of the cards I have purchased until today with the indication of the purchase price, the current market prices on Atomic Hub and the differences between purchase price and current market value for each NFT purchased.
The difference in value (total purchase price - total current market value) that was positive seven days ago has turned negative even though the loss in value relative to purchase prices is minimal (-2.26%):

Token SEST Purchased
SEST tokens are the native tokens of the Farming Tales game and are obtained through the Harvest operation. To perform the Harvest operation, however, you must have two consumable items: food and water. Food and water represent a cost and can be purchased using CBIT tokens (utility tokens).
CBIT tokens can be purchased but can also be produced for free by stacking SEST tokens. SEST tokens stacked provide a daily supply of CBIT tokens.
In order to make the OneUp CArtel farm self-sufficient and able to perform Harvest operations without having to purchase CBIT tokens from the non-game markets on a cyclical basis, I purchased 14970 SEST tokens that I staked in the Wallet section of Farming Tales.
To purchase 14970 SEST tokens, I used the Alchor exchange (https://wax.alcor.exchange/) and spent a total of 195 WAX (January 30, 2022).
Gain obtained from the sale of NFTs
For the first time since I started as a OneUp Cartel operator I am introducing a new section in my report.
The purchase of the GreenHouse allowed for a daily reward in addition to the SEST tokens: a Seed Box (NFT) each day.
Each Seed Box in turn contains 3 NFTs of type seed randomly assigned. Both Seed Boxes and Seeds can be sold on AtomicHub or used within the game.
In the last week I have sold:

From the sale I made a profit of 35 WAX which I plan to use to buy more Vegetables Garden cards to be able to use more Seeds type NFTs each week and to increase the reward in SEST tokens accordingly.

The value of rewards obtained and not reinvested
In the table below you can see the total value of SEST tokens and CBIT tokens owned by OneUp Cartel updated as of today's date.
If I subtract the amount of 14970 SEST tokens I purchased on January 30, 2022 I get the total value of in-game rewards received and not reinvested which is 89.64 WAX = $25.68.
Although the total amount of SEST tokens (purchased + received as rewards) of OneUp Cartel has increased in one week its value has decreased because compared to seven days ago both the value of WAX tokens and SEST tokens has decreased.
The amount of 26490 stacked SEST tokens currently provides a daily reward of 7.72 CBIT tokens per day = $0.250 per day
Profit and ROI
It's time to do some calculations, compare costs and revenues and calculate the Profit and ROI after 39 days.
I created a prospectus to show and to monitor the financial results of the investment on Farming Tales that I manage on behalf of OneUp Cartel (image below).
The financial results are negative even though their value is very small:
- **Profit: - 9.71 WAX = - $2.78
- ROI: - 0.53%**.
The previous week I had recorded a very positive result: a ROI of +18.62%. This week the decline and loss of value of WAX tokens and SEST tokens makes me record a negative result even if very small.
The results in my prospectus only take into account the investments made using the WAX tokens and do not take into account:

the dollar value of the initial investment
-
the variation of the value in dollars of the WAX tokens and of the 500 HBD tokens initially invested.
Taking into consideration the current dollar value of the 500 HBD tokens and WAX tokens the financial results of OneUp Cartel's investment in Farming Tales are:

**Profit: - 36.72S

6.45%**.
Final Considerations
Even though this week I registered a negative result I still see potential and above all I still believe I made the right choice to invest in Farming Tales.
Obviously my advice is not financial because I do not have the ability to predict the future but I consider the small negative ROI that I recorded this week only temporary and the result of the loss of value of WAX tokens but especially the loss of value of SEST tokens that have proven to be very volatile.
This week I will continue to sell the NFT Seed Box and Seed to buy as many NFT Garden as possible with the goal of increasing the amount of SEST tokens. The SEST tokens will be very useful to participate in future sales of NFTs in limited numbers such as the GreenHouse and will therefore be very useful to expand the OneUp Cartel farm with the consequent increase in the amount of rewards obtainable daily from harvest operations. Starting this week I will also try to exploit the fluctuations in value of the assets that revolve around Farming Tales: WAX, SEST and CBIT.
For example given the current very low value of SEST tokens, right now it might be convenient to buy them by converting WAX tokens and then reselling them when the value goes up (especially at special sales) or to buy some NFTs using the crafting operation from the Farming Tales site which right now is cheaper than buying on AtomicHub.

Le Novità su Farming Tales L'investimento di OneUp Cartel
**Farming Tales è un simulatore di farming basato su NFT costruito e sviluppato sulla blockchain WAX.
Chi legge il mio Hive blog sa che i giochi blockchain sono una delle mie passioni e sa anche che scrivo/gioco/investo su tutti i progetti di gaming sviluppati sulla blockchain di Hive perchè Hive è il mio progetto blockchain preferito.

Più precisamente sono due le particolarità di Farming Tales che mi hanno convinto ad investirci:

Arrivano Nuovi Animali
Durante l'ultima AMA e nel canale discord "Annuncements" di Farming Tales è stata annunciata l'introduzione di nuovi animali: Farming Tales' Animals Series 2.
Tutti gli NFT di tipo animale presenti oggi nel gioco hanno bisogno di un NFT di tipo building per poter essere utilizzati. Gli animali della serie 2 saranno "liberi" e slegati da questo requisito. Come scritto nel messaggio di annuncio su Discord saranno animali rilasciati in numero limitato e saranno acquistabili utilizzando i token SEST.
Product System
Al momento tutte le operazioni di Harvest permettono di ottenere come ricompensa un certo quantitativo di token SEST. Il team di sviluppo di Farming Tales sta lavorando speditamente per cercare di introdurre un nuovo sistema di produzione entro il mese in corso. Il nuovo sistema di produzione permetterà agli NFT Gardens e Animals di produrre cibo e vegetali invece degli attuali token SEST.
OneUp Cartel Investment
Budget Iniziale
Dopo aver mostrato e condiviso le ultime novità annunciate nell'ultima settimana da Farming Tales è arrivato il momento di valutare dal punto di vista finanziario l'investimento di OneUp Cartel su Farming Tales ed ecco di seguito il mio sesto report settimanale da operatore di OneUp Cartel.
**OneUp Cartel ha investito nel progetto Farming Tales:
- 500 HBD (29 gennaio 2022)
- 250 WAX** (2 marzo 2022)
In base ai valori odierni dei token HBD e dei token WAX il valore totale attuale dell'investimento di OneUp Cartel su Farming Tales è di 569.13$ (report precedente: 566.25$).
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere il totale dei token WAX che ho avuto a disposizione da investire: 1833 token WAX.
Gli Assets acquistati
CPU
Sulla blockchain WAX è necessario avere un minimo di risorse (NET, CPU, RAM) per poter effettuare determinate operazioni.
Ad esempio tutte le operazioni di Harvest all'interno del gioco di Farming Tales consumano la risorsa CPU (che si ricarica con il tempo) e per questo motivo ho destinato inizialmente 37 token WAX alla risorsa CPU.
Nella scorsa settimana ho notato che le operazioni di acquisto e vendita dei token SEST e CBIT consumavano molta CPU e per questo motivo ho incrementato la risorsa CPU aggiungendo 14.54 token WAX in stacked arrivando così ad un totale di 51.54 token WAX (immagine seguente).

Per iniziare l'avventura da produttore agricolo su Farming Tales è necessario effettuare un **investimento iniziale che consiste principalmente nell'acquisto di almeno una delle seguenti combinazioni di carte (NFT):

Fino ad oggi ho scelto tutti gli NFT che ho acquistato in base al calcolo del ROI stimato annuale, calcolo che ho effettuato per ogni combinazione di NFT presente sul mercato prima di effettuare ogni acquisto.
Nell'ultima settimana non ho acquistato nuovi NFT ma il totale del numero degli NFT è diminuito perchè ho venduto alcuni NFT.

Per acquistare gli NFT che ho elencato sopra ho speso in totale 1585.58 WAX. Per acquistare alcune carte come ad esempio il GreenHouse ho utilizzato i token SEST e per calcolare il costo di acquisto ho considerato il valore dei token WAX che ho utilizzato per acquistare i token SEST necessari.
Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere l'elenco delle carte che ho acquistato fino ad oggi con l'indicazione dei prezzi di acquisto, dei prezzi di mercato attuali su Atomic Hub e delle differenze tra prezzo di acquisto e valore attuale di mercato per ogni NFT acquistato.
La differenza di valore (prezzo totale di acquisto - valore di mercato totale attuale) che era positiva sette giorni fa è diventata negativa anche se la perdita di valore rispetto ai prezzi di acquisto è minima (-2.26%):

Token SEST Acquistati
I token SEST sono i token nativi del gioco di Farming Tales e si ottengono tramite l'operazione di Harvest. Per effettuare l'operazione di Harvest è però necessario avere due elementi consumabili: cibo e acqua. Il cibo e l'acqua rappresentano un costo e sono acquistabili utilizzando i token CBIT (utility tokens)
I token CBIT possono essere acquistati ma possono essere anche prodotti in modo gratuito mediante l'operaione di stacking dei token SEST. I token SEST messi in stake procucono giornalmente un quantitativo di token CBIT.
Per rendere la fattoria di OneUp CArtel autosufficiente in grado di effettuare le operazioni di Harvest senza dover acquistare ciclicamente i token CBIT dai mercati esterni al gioco, ho acquistato 14970 token SEST che ho messo tutti in stake all'interno della sezione Wallet di Farming Tales.
Per acquistare 14970 token SEST ho utilizzato l'exchange Alchor (https://wax.alcor.exchange/) e ho speso in totale 195 WAX (30 gennaio 2022).
Il Guadagno ottenuto dalla vendita degli NFT
Per la prima volta da quando ho iniziato la mia attività di operatore di OneUp Cartel introduco una nova sezione nel mio report.
L'acquisto del GreenHouse ha permesso di ottenere una ricompensa giornaliera aggiuntiva ai token SEST: un Seed Box (NFT) ogni giorno.
Ogni Seed Box contiene a sua volta 3 NFTs di tipo seed assegnati casualmente. Sia i Seed Box che i Seeds possono essere venduti su AtomicHub o utilizzati all'interno del gioco.
Nell'ultima settimana ho venduto:

Dalla vendita ho ottenuto un guadagno di 35 WAX che ho intenzione di utilizzare per acquistare altre carte Vegetables Garden per poter utilizzare più NFT di tipo Seeds ogni settimana e per aumentare di conseguenza la ricompensa in token SEST.

Il valore delle ricompense ottenute e non reinvestite
Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere il valore totale dei token SEST e dei token CBIT di proprietà di OneUp Cartel aggiornato alla data odierna.
Se sottraggo il quantitativo di 14970 token SEST che ho acquistato il 30 gennaio 2022 ottengo il valore totale delle ricompense di gioco ricevute e non reinvestite che è di 89.64 WAX = 25.68$
Anche se il totale dei token SEST (acquistati + ricevuti come ricompensa) di OneUp Cartel è aumentato in una settimana il suo valore è diminuito perchè rispetto a sette giorni fa è diminuto sia il valore dei token WAX che dei token SEST.
Il quantitativo di 26490 token SEST in stacked garantisce al momento una ricompensa giornaliera di 7.72 token CBIT al giorno = 0.250$ al giorno
Profit e ROI
E' arrivato il momento di fare un pò di calcoli, di confrontare costi e ricavi e di calcolare il Profitto e il ROI dopo 39 giorni.
Ho creato un prospetto per mostrare e per monitorare i risultati finanziari dell'investimento su Farming Tales che gestisco per conto di OneUp Cartel (immagine seguente).
I risultati finanziari sono negativi anche se il loro valore è molto piccolo:
- **Profit: - 9.71 WAX = - 2.78$
- ROI: - 0.53%**
La settimana precedente avevo registrato un risultato molto positivo: un ROI del +18.62%. Questa settimana la flessione e perdita di valore dei token WAX e dei token SEST mi fa registrare un risultato negativo anche se molto piccolo.
I risultati presenti nel mio prospetto tengono conto solo degli investimenti effettuati utilizzando i token WAX e non tengono conto:

Prendendo in considerazione il valore attuale in dollari dei 500 token HBD e dei token WAX i risultati finanziari dell'investimento di OneUp Cartel su Farming Tales sono:

Considerazioni Finali
Anche se questa settimana ho registrato un risultato negativo continuo a vedere potenziale e soprattutto continuo a credere di aver fatto la scelta giusta ad investire su Farming Tales.
Ovviamente i miei non sono consigli finanziari perchè non ho la capacità di prevedere il futuro ma considero il piccolo ROI negativo che ho registrato questa settimana soltanto temporaneo e frutto della perdita di valore dei token WAX ma soprattutto della perdita di valore dei token SEST che hanno dimostrato di essere molto volatili.
In questa settimana continuerò a vendere gli NFT Seed Box e Seed per comprare il maggior numero di NFT Garden possibile con l'obiettivo di incrementare il quantitativo di token SEST. I token SEST saranno molto utili per partecipare alle vendite future di NFT in numero limitato come il GreenHouse e saranno quindi molto utili per espandere la fattoria di OneUp Cartel con il conseguente aumento del quantitativo di ricompense ottenibili giornalmente dalle operazioni di harvest. A partire da questa settimana cercherò anche di sfruttare le oscillazioni di valore degli assets che ruotano attorno a Farming Tales: WAX, SEST e CBIT.
Ad esempio dato il valore attuale molto basso dei token SEST, in questo momento potrebbe essere conveniente acquistarli convertendo i token WAX per poi rivenderli quando il valore salirà (soprattutto in occasione di vendite particolari) o per acquistare alcuni NFT utilizzando l'operazione di crafting dal sito di Farming Tales che in questo momento è più conveniente rispetto all'acquisto su AtomicHub.
