HIVE Hard Fork 26: User-side changes explained!
Today is 10 October 2022 and tomorrow 11 October 2022 at 12:00 GMT will be the Hive Blockchain Hard Fork 26.
I have been a Hive user since March 2019 and have seen several Hard Forks.
HF26 will be a major update for the Hive blockchain and the changes that will be applied will improve several aspects and add more functionality.
These changes will interest users, developers, investors and witnesses.

In today's post I want to update my readers on the user-side changes that the upcoming HF26 will produce, and I will try to explain all these changes as to be useful especially to new Hive users.
The separation of Hive Power and Resource Credits
Hive is my favourite blockchain project, and when someone asks me why I like Hive I always answer: "because Hive is more unique than rare".
I answer this way because **Hive has so many utilities that differentiate it from other blockchain projects including:
- a high speed (3 second block speeds)!
- no transaction costs**.
On the Hive blockchain executing a transaction such as a HIVE token transfer or transferring an NFT or publishing a post has no transaction cost in terms of HIVE tokens (or other tokens) but has only a cost in terms of Resource Credits.
The amount of Resource Credits is directly proportional to the number of Hive Power (= HIVE staked) and is automatically recharged as time passes.
So the following equation applies:
+ HP = + Resource Credits = + executable operations on the blockchain
On Hive HP and Resource Credits have always been connected and inseparable and at this time to delegate Resource Credits it is necessary to also delegate HP and vice versa. The HF 26 will permit separating HP and Resource Credits with great advantages and benefits for both users and developers of Hive-based applications and projects.
After HF 26, for example, I will be able to choose to delegate the part of my RCs that I don't use to a project focused on onboarding new users or to a gaming project that I play and that needs a lot of RCs to execute game transactions without being forced to delegate a quantity of HP that I can use instead to support authors who publish useful and interesting posts on the Hive blockchain.
HF26 will also make changes to the cost in RC of certain transactions that can be made on the Hive blockchain. For example claiming an account will have a higher RC cost than now.
No penalty for changing the voting percentage
On Hive if you vote for a post or comment with a voting percentage and then decide to later vote for the same post or comment with a different voting percentage you consume Voting Power and thus receive a penalty because you burn part of the curator reward you could have gotten if you did not change your vote.
After HF26 you can change your mind and your voting percentage as many times as you like without receiving a penalty.
No time restrictions for votes
On Hive it is not possible to vote for two posts or two comments within a three-second interval. If you try to vote for two posts in a 3-second interval using e.g. the front end of https://peakd.com/ you will only be able to vote for the first post and then you will receive the following error message.
After HF26 you will be able to vote as many posts as you want and at any time interval.
Ability to change keys twice every hour instead of once
On Hive it is possible to change keys at most once every hour, but after the Hard Fork this possibility will be doubled considering the same time interval.
HBD haircut from 10% to 30%
After HF26 the soft limit for HBD will increase from 9% to 20% while the hard limit will increase from 10% to 30%. The topic is quite technical and not easy to understand, especially for a new user, and would require a whole, articulate post. This modification will allow greater stability to the HBD value and also provide greater security as it will prevent exploits of the internal HBD conversion system (HBD<->HIVE).
Final Considerations
Personally I like all the changes that HF26 will bring. It will be a much bigger update than the previous HF25 and even though a lot of testing has been done there might be some temporary malfunctions as everything might work out for the best.
In case there will be some technical and temporary problems my advice is to stay calm and be patient because Hive has a lot of really good developers who will solve possible problems professionally and in the shortest possible time and this is another great value of the Hive blockchain!
Hard Fork 26 will be an important and beautiful step for Hive because through it Hive will continue to expand, to add new utilities and new features and will continue to evolve and get better!

You can continue to be a simple number, a simple source of data and wealth for centralized projects like Facebook & Co. without receiving anything or almost anything in return.

Oggi è il 10 ottobre 2022 e domani 11 ottobre 2022 alle ore 12:00 GMT ci sarà l'Hard Fork 26 della blockchain di Hive.
Sono un utente di Hive da marzo 2019 e ho assistito a diversi Hard Fork.
L'HF26 sarà un grande aggiornamento per la blockchain di Hive e le modifiche che saranno applicate miglioreranno diversi aspetti e aggiungeranno più funzionalità.
Queste modifiche interesseranno utenti, sviluppatori, investitori e testimoni.

Nel post di oggi voglio aggiornare i miei lettori sulle modifiche lato utente che produrrà l'imminente HF26 e cercher ò di spiegare tutte queste modifiche tramite l'utilizzo di esempi pratici in modo da essere utile in particolare ai nuovi utenti di Hive.
La separazione tra Hive Power e Resource Credits
Hive è il mio progetto blockchain preferito e quando qualcuno mi chiede perchè ti piace Hive io rispondo sempre: "perchè Hive è più unica che rara!"
Rispondo in questo modo perchè **Hive ha tante utilità che la differenziano da altri progetti blockchain tra cui:
- un'alta velocità (3 second block speeds)!
- non ha costi di transazione!**
Sulla blockchain di Hive eseguire un'operazione come ad esempio un trasferimento di token HIVE o il trasferimento di un NFT o la pubblicazione di un post non ha un costo di transazione in termini di token HIVE (o altri tokens) ma ha solo un costo in termini di Resource Credits.
La quantità di Resource Credits è direttamente proporzionale al numero di Hive Power (= HIVE messi in stake) e si ricarica automaticamente con il passare del tempo.
Quindi vale la seguente equazione:
+ HP = + Resource Credits = + operazioni eseguibili sulla blockchain
Su Hive HP e Resource Credits sono stati sempre collegati e inseparabili e in questo momento per delegare Resource Credits è necessario delegare anche gli HP e viceversa. L'HF 26 permetterà di separare HP e Resource Credits con grandi vantaggi e benefici sia per gli utenti che per gli sviluppatori di applicazioni e progetti Hive-based.
Dopo l'HF 26, ad esempio, potrò scegliere di delegare la parte dei miei RC che non uso ad un progetto focalizzato sull'onboarding di nuovi utenti oppure ad un progetto di gaming a cui gioco e che ha bisogno di molti RC per effettuare le transazioni del gioco senza essere costretto a delegare anche un quantitativo di HP che potrò utilizzare invece per supportare gli autori che pubblicano post utili e interessanti sulla blockchain di Hive.
L'HF26 apporterà anche modifiche al costo in RC di alcune operazioni effettuabili sulla blockchain di Hive. Ad esempio fare il claim di un account avrà un costo in RC maggiore rispetto ad ora.
Nessuna Penalità per il cambio della percentuale di voto
Su Hive se voti un post o un commento con una percentuale di voto e poi decidi di votare successivamente lo stesso post o lo stesso commento con una percentuale di voto diversa consumi Voting Power e quindi ricevi una penalità perchè bruci una parte della ricompensa da curatore che avresti potuto ottenere se non modificavi il tuo voto.
Dopo l'HF26 potrai cambiare idea e percentuale di voto tutte le volte che vorrai senza ricevere penalità.
No time restrictions for votes
Su Hive non è possibile votare due post o due commenti in un intervallo di tre secondi. Se provi a votare due post in un intervallo di 3 secondi utilizzando ad esempio il front end di https://peakd.com/ riuscirai a votare solo il primo post e poi riceverai il seguente messaggio di errore.
Dopo l'HF26 potrai votare tutti i post che vorrai e in qualunque intervallo di tempo.
Possibilità di cambiare le chiavi due volte ogni ora invece di una
Su Hive è possibile cambiare le chiavi al massimo una volta ogni ora ma dopo l'Hard Fork questa possibilità sarà raddoppiata considerando lo stesso intervallo di tempo.
HBD haircut da 10% a 30%
Dopo l'HF26 il soft limit per HBD passerà dal 9% al 20% mentre l'hard limit passerà dal 10% al 30%. L'argomento è abbastanza tecnico e di non facile comprensione soprattutto per un nuovo utente e richiederebbe un post intero e articolato. Fortunatamente c'è un post davvero bello e dettagliato scritto da @dalz che spiega in modo magnifico il funzionamento dell'HBD haircut: The Haircut Rule, The Biggest Risk For The HBD Price | Historical Data On Hive Debt and HBD Price
Questa modifica permetterà una maggiore stabilità al valore degli HBD e garantirà anche una maggiore sicurezza perchè permetterà di prevenire exploits del sistema di conversione interno HBD<->HIVE.
Considerazioni Finali
Personalmente mi piacciono tutte le modifiche che apporterà l'HF26. Sarà un aggiornamento molto più grande del precedente HF25 e anche se sono stati effettuati molti test ci potrebbero essere dei malfunzionamenti temporanei come potrebbe andare tutto per il meglio.
Nel caso ci saranno dei problemi tecnici e temporanei il mio consiglio è di stare tranquilli ed avere pazienza perchè Hive ha tanti sviluppatori davvero bravi che risolverannno i possibili problemi con la massima professionalità e nel minore tempo possibile e questo è un altro grande valore che ha la blockchain di Hive!
L'Hard Fork 26 sarà un passo importante e bello per Hive perchè tramite esso Hive continuerà ad espandersi, ad aggiungere nuove utilità e nuove funzionalità e continuerà ad evolversi migliorando!

Se non sei un utente di Hive e non conosci il mondo delle blockchains hai due possibilità:
Puoi continuare ad essere un semplice numero, una semplice fonte di dati e ricchezza per progetti centralizzati come Facebook & Co. senza ricevere nulla o quasi nulla in cambio.
Puoi scegliere di essere libero, puoi scegliere di avere la piena proprietà dei tuoi dati e dei tuoi contenuti e puoi iniziare la tua avventura su Hive.
Ciò che rende la blockchain di Hive più unica che rara sono le sue peculiarità:
