My Card Collection Optimization: Sell and Buy! Focus on Fire Cards
Another season of Splinterlands has recently ended. By now I have lost count of the number of seasons I have played since I have been a Splinterlands player (October 18, 2019) but opening a good number of chests is always fun.
There was also a nice new feature in this season finale: the implementation of the Non-Card Market accessible from the Market -> Other Items section of the Splinterlands website. From the Non-Card Market it will be possible to sell all Splinterlands assets except cards that have their own section (Card Sales).
In the last seven days I have had a lot of commitments in my real life and because of this I have had to reduce both my interaction and posting activity on Hive and my playing activity on Splinterlands. With little free time available I have played few games compared to previous seasons and playing almost always in a hurry I have hardly watched the last five battles of my opponents and this has resulted in a really low win rate: 50% (Wild Format).
I finished the season in the Gold I league but fortunately I was able to gain access even if only on the last day of the season in the Diamond III league and then return to the Gold I league and then I will be able to receive Diamond type chests again at the end of the currently running season but I will have to start from the Silver I league.
The end-of-season reward was not very exciting ($3.04).
But in the card pack I found the legendary card Spirit Hoader and in the last reward of the focus daily I found 292 SPS and so I am still satisfied with the rewards I got during the last day of the season which have a total value of $20.32.
In the previous months, I focused on selling the cards I was not using in battle, and through this sale I accumulated a good amount of DEC tokens. My initial plan was to wait for the DEC token to reach its peg (1000 DEC = $1) in order to purchase cards useful in battle to make the final leap into the Diamond leagues.
However, the DEC token never reached its peg although it came very close on November 8, 2022 when 1000 DEC was worth $0.91.
Then there was the collapse of the FTX centralized exchange and its FTT token, and almost all blockchain project tokens saw declines in value.
Today, however, there are still **favorable conditions to buy cards from the market because:

DEC tokens have a good value: 1000 DEC = $0.740** (+9.9% in 24h)
-
Splinterlands card prices have averaged lower over the past 30 days
Therefore, I decided to start immediately to strengthen my card collection with the goal of playing in Diamond leagues from the first days of the season and not only on the last day of the season.
To return to playing in Diamond leagues I therefore need to **optimize my card collection and to do so I need to:
-
continue to sell cards that are of little use in battle and/or that I never use in battle.
-
continue to sell cards that are objectively useful in battle but only at a certain level and that I have no intention of upgrading
-
buy cards that are useful in battle**
The great usefulness of Peakmonsters in the card selling process
Today I selected and offered for sale 541 cards (590 BCX) that I have never used in battle or have used little in battle over the past five seasons.
For example, I chose to sell:
- **Queen Mycelia Gold because I have another copy and because I have the higher level regular version.
- Soulstorm Gold because I have the regular version and the Gold version I have really rarely used in battle
- 3 copies of Halfling Alchemist** level 1 because I have 2 other copies that I decided to keep.
To quickly choose cards to sell I used the Peakmonsters site which has a lot of really useful filters.
I like to open two Peakmonsters windows at the same time. In the first window I display the **My Cards section and choose the BULK view and put the filters:

For Sale = No
-
For Rent = No
-
Delegated = No
-
Owned = Yes**
In the second window I display the Buy section and choose the LIST view. When from the My Cards section I find a card that I never or almost never use in battle I move to the window with the Buy section and use the Card Name search field to quickly see the market price of the card I would like to sell and other useful information such as High Bid, Low Buy and Low Price for BCX
The great usefulness of Peakmonsters is perticularly evident in the operation of putting several cards up for sale at once.
After I selected the 541 cards to sell, it was only necessary to enter in the Confirm Cards Listing screen the -0.5% value in the Relative (+/- Perc) Low Buy Price field to put 541 cards up for sale at the lowest market price per individual BCX with a few clicks and taking very little time.
How much time would I have spent if I had made the same transactions from the Splinterlandsa site?
Purchase goals
If I sell all the cards I put up for sale today I will get a value of $548 to reinvest in buying cards to increase the battle strength of my card collection.
While waiting for my cards to be sold I can already start shopping in the market because I have an amount of 1124000 DEC to spend.
In choosing cards to upgrade/purchase I will proceed by element and today I want to share my purchase goals related to cards from the Chaos Legion collection that are part of the Fire element.
Upgrade of the cheap but useful cards in battle of the Fire element
The first task I did today was to upgrade the Chaos Legion edition cards that have a low cost per BCX and that I use often in battle.
The first card I decided to upgrade is Lava Launcher. It is a card that I don't really use often but I consider it a good choice when available mana is plentiful and when the battle rules are particularly conducive to its use such as the Heavy Hitters battle rule.
I decided to bring Lava Launcher to the maximum level and to do so I purchased 15 BCX and spent $1.20
After Lava Launcher I chose to upgrade Tusk the Wide.
I chose to raise my Tusk The Wide from level 2 to level 4. Tusk The Wide is a card that is not very useful at level 1 but becomes very useful from level 4 because it acquires the Inspire ability.
Tusk the wide at level 4 is a good possible choice when the battle rules are Melee Mayhem, Super Sneak, Up Close and Personal and Reverse Speed.
I also chose to upgrade Tusk The Wide because I have the level 6 Daria Dragonscale summoner who has the ability to increase Tusk the Wide's attack by one unit.
As a third upgrade goal I chose the Exploding Rats card. I have 71 BCXs in my card collection and decided to purchase 44 more BCXs to bring Exploding Rats to the maximum level. Exploding Rats is not a card that can be used frequently but when the battle rules are Equalizer + Equal Opportunity/Melee Mayhem/Super Sneak it becomes a great choice.
For example in a battle with Equalizer + Melee Mayhem rulesets I could use Exploding Rats of level 8 in combination with Daria Dragonscale and Tusk the Wiide. In this case I would have a card with a very high speed (7 points), 6 point attack whose destructive power is amplified by the blast ability.
I also chose to make this upgrade because the cost I have to incur is really small: 0.704$.
Upgrade of legendary cards
The fire element legendary cards from the Chaos Legion edition that I would like to upgrade to the highest level are:
- **Grum Flameblade
- Countess Sinash**
In my collection I have:
-
1 **Grum Flameblade is level 3 (6 BCX)
-
1 Grum Flameblade of level 1**.
In order to bring Grum Flamebalde to the maximum level, I must purchase 4 BCX. In this case, I chose not to purchase 4 BCX right away but to make bid purchase offers from the Peakmonsters site. I made this choice because for the past few seasons I have played almost always in the Gold league except on the last day of the season. Even if I upgrade my Grum Flameblade to level 4 today, I will not be able to use it until I reach Diamond league.
With BID offers I do not reach my upgrade goal right away but I have a probability of spending less if my BID is accepted.

I would also like to have Countess Sinash of level 4 in my collection. Again, I have chosen the BID offer through the Peakmonsters site as my purchase option.
Since I only have 1 BCX I need to purchase another 10 BCX.

Final Considerations
With the purchases I made today I increased the battle strength of my Chaos Legion edition fire element card collection. With the upgrade of Lava Launcher and Exploding Rats, I doubled the number of fire element cards in the Chaos Legion collection that I took to the maximum level.
The purchases I have made and shared in this post will most likely not be enough to get back to playing in the Diamond leagues of Splinterlands but I have definitely taken a step toward my goal.
After the fire element I will move on to upgrading the water element cards from the Chaos Legion edition but that will be the topic of my next post ;)

L'ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte: Vendere e Comprare
E' da poco terminata un'altra stagione di Splinterlands. Ormai ho perso il conto delle stagioni che ho giocato da quando sono un giocatore di Splinterlands (18 ottobre 2019) ma aprire i forzieri è sempre divertente.
In questo finale di stagione c'è stata anche una bella novità: l'implementazione del Non-Card Market accessibile dalla sezione Market -> Other Items del sito di Splinterlands. Dal Non-Card Market sarà possibile vendere tutti gli assets di Splinterlands ad eccezione delle carte che hanno la loro sezione (Card Sales).
Negli ultimi sette giorni ho avuto tanti impegni nella mia real life e per questo motivo ho dovuto ridurre sia la mia attività di interazione e pubblicazione su Hive e sia la mia attività di gioco su Splinterlands. Con poco tempo libero disponibile ho giocato poche partite rispetto alle stagioni precedenti e giocando quasi sempre di fretta non ho quasi mai guardato le ultime cinque battaglie dei miei avversari e questo si è tradotto in un win rate davvero basso: 50% (Wild Format).
Ho terminato la stagione in lega Gold I ma fortunatamente sono riuscito ad accedere anche se solo nell'ultimo giorno della stagione in lega Diamond III per poi ritornare in lega Gold I e quindi potrò nuovamente ricevere forzieri di tipo Diamond alla fine della stagione attualmente in corso ma dovrò partire dalla lega Silver I.
La ricompensa di fine stagione non è stata molto entusiasmante (3.04$).
Ma nel pacco di carte ho trovato la carta leggendaria Spirit Hoader e nell'ultima ricompensa della focus daily ho trovato 292 SPS e quindi sono comunque soddisfatto delle ricompense che ho ottenuto durante l'ultimo giorno della stagione che hanno un valore totale di 20.32$.
Nei mesi precedenti mi sono focalizzato sulla vendita delle carte che non usavo in battaglia e grazie a questa vendita ho accumulato un buon quantitativo di token DEC. Il mio piano iniziale era quello di aspettare che il token DEC raggiungesse il suo peg (1000 DEC = 1$) per acquistare carte utili in battaglia per fare il salto definitivo nelle leghe Diamond.
Il token DEC però non ha mai raggiunto il suo peg anche se si è molto avvicinato il giorno 8 novembre 2022 quando 1000 DEC valevano 0.91$.
Poi c'è stato il crollo dell'exchange centralizzato FTX e del suo token FTT e quasi tutti i token dei progetti blockchain hanno registrato diminuzioni di valore.
Oggi però ci sono comunque delle **condizioni favorevoli per acquistare le carte dal mercato perchè:
-
i token DEC hanno un buon valore: 1000 DEC = 0.740$** (+9.9% in 24h)
-
i prezzi delle carte di Splinterlands sono mediamente diminuiti negli ultimi 30 giorni
Ho quindi deciso di iniziare subito a rafforzare la mia collezione di carte con l'obiettivo di giocare nelle leghe Diamond fin dai primi giorni della stagione e non solo nell'ultimo giorno della stagione.
Per ritornare a giocare nelle leghe Diamond ho quindi bisogno di **ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte e per farlo devo:
-
continuare a vendere le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e/o che non utilizzo mai in battaglia
-
continuare a vendere le carte che sono oggettivamente utili in battaglia ma solo ad un determinato livello e che non ho intenzione di potenziare
-
acquistare carte che sono utili in battaglia**
La grande utilità di Peakmonsters nel processo di vendita delle carte
Oggi ho selezionato e messo in vendita 541 carte (590 BCX) che non ho mai usato in battaglia o ho usato poco in battaglia nelle ultime cinque stagioni.
Ad esempio ho scelto di vendere:

**Queen Mycelia Gold perchè ho un'altra copia e perchè ho la versione regular di livello maggiore
-
Soulstorm Gold perchè ho la versione regular e la versione Gold l'ho usata davvero raramente in battaglia
-
3 copie di Halfling Alchemist** di livello 1 perchè ho altre 2 copie che ho deciso di conservare.
Per scegliere velocemente le carte da vendere ho utilizzato il sito di Peakmonsters che ha tanti filtri davvero utili.
A me piace aprire contemporaneamente due finestre di Peakmonsters. Nella prima finestra visualizzo la sezione **My Cards e scelgo la visualizzazione BULK e metto i filtri:

For Sale = No
-
For Rent = No
-
Delegated = No
-
Owned = Yes**
Nella seconda finestra visualizzo la sezione Buy e scelgo la visualizzazione LIST. Quando dalla sezione My Cards trovo una carta che non uso mai o quasi mai in battaglia mi sposto nella finestra con la sezione Buy e utilizzo il campo di ricerca Card Name per vedere velocemente il prezzo di mercato della carta che vorrei vendere e altre utili informazioni come High Bid, Low Buy e Low Price per BCX
La grande utilità di Peakmonsters è perticolarmente evidente nell'operazione di messa in vendita di più carte contemporaneamente. Dopo che ho selezionato le 541 carte da vendere è stato sufficiente inserire nella schermata Confirm Cards Listing il valore -0.5% nel campo Relative (+/- Perc) Low Buy Price per mettere in vendita 541 carte al prezzo di mercato più basso per singolo BCX con pochi click e impiegando poco tempo.
Quanto tempo avrei speso se avessi effettuato le stesse operazioni dal sito di Splinterlandsa?
Obiettivi di acquisto
Se venderò tutte le carte che ho messo in vendita oggi otterrò un valore di 548$ da reinvestire nell'acquisto di carte per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.
Nell'attesa che le mie carte vengano vendute posso iniziare già a fare acquisti sul mercato perchè ho un quantitativo di 1124000 DEC da spendere.
Nella scelta delle carte da potenziare/acquistare procederò per elemento e oggi voglio condividere i miei obiettivi di acquisto relativi alle carte della collezione Chaos Legion che fanno parte dell'elemento Fire.
Upgrade delle carte economiche ma utili in battaglia dell'elemento Fire
La prima operazione che ho fatto oggi è stata quella di portare al massimo livello le carte dell'edizione Chaos Legion che hanno un basso costo per BCX e che utilizzo spesso in battaglia.
La prima carta che ho deciso di potenziare è Lava Launcher. E' una carta che non uso proprio spesso ma la considero un'ottima scelta quando i mana disponibili sono molti e quando le regole di battaglia sono particolarmente favorevoli al suo utilizzo come ad esempio la regola di battaglia Heavy Hitters.
Ho deciso di portare Lava Launcher al massimo livello e per farlo ho acquistato 15 BCX e ho speso 1.20$
Dopo Lava Launcher ho scelto di potenziare Tusk the Wide
Ho scelto di portare il mio Tusk The Wide dal livello 2 al livello 4. Tusk The Wide è una carta poco utile al livello 1 ma diventa molto utile a partire dal livello 4 perchè acquisisce l'abilità Inspire. Tusk the wide di livello 4 è una valida scelta possibile quando le regole di battaglia sono Melee Mayhem, Super Sneak, Up Close e Personal e Reverse Speed.
Ho scelto di potenziare Tusk The Wide anche perchè ho l'evocatore Daria Dragonscale di livello 6 che ha l'abilità di aumentare l'attacco di Tusk the Wide di un'unità.
Come terzo obiettivo di upgrade ho scelto la carta Exploding Rats. Nella mia collezione di carte ho 71 BCX e ho deciso di acquistare altri 44 BCX per portare Exploding Rats al massimo livello. Exploding Rats non è una carta utilizzabile con frequenza ma quando le regole di battaglia sono Equalizer + Equal Opportunity/Melee Mayhem/Super Sneak diventa una prima scelta.
Ad esempio in una battaglia con le rulesets Equalizer + Melee Mayhem potrei utilizzare Exploding Rats di livello 8 in combinazione con Daria Dragonscale e Tusk the Wiide. In questo caso avrei una carta con una velocità molto alta (7 punti), un attacco di 6 punti la cui forza distruttiva viene amplificata dall'abilità blast.
Ho scelto di fare questo upgrade anche perchè il costo che devo sostenere è davvero piccolo: 0.704$.
Upgrade delle carte leggendarie
Le carte leggendarie dell'elemento fuoco dell'edizione Chaos Legion che mi piacerebbe portare al massimo livello sono:
- **Grum Flameblade
- Contessa Sinash**
Nella mia collezione ho:

1 **Grum Flameblade è di livello 3 (6 BCX)

1 Grum Flameblade di livello 1**
Per portare Grum Flamebalde al livello massimo devo acquistare 4 BCX. In questo caso ho scelto di non acquistare subito 4 BCX ma di effettuare delle offerte di acquisto Bid dal sito di Peakmonsters. Ho effettuato questa scelta perchè nelle ultime stagioni ho giocato quasi sempre in lega Gold tranne l'ultimo giorno della stagione. Anche se potenzio oggi il mio Grum Flameblade al livello 4 non potrò utilizzarlo fin quando non raggiungerò la lega Diamond. Con le offerte BID non raggiungo subito il mio obiettivo di upgrade ma ho come risvolto positivo una probabilità di spendere meno se la mia offerta di acquisto verrà accettata.

Mi piacerebbe avere nella mia collezione anche Contessa Sinash di livello 4. Anche in questo caso ho scelto come opzione di acquisto l'offerta BID tramite il sito di Peakmonsters.
Poichè ho 1 solo BCX devo acquistare altri 10 BCX.

Considerazioni Finali
Con gli acquisti che ho effettuato oggi ho aumentato la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte dell'elemento fuoco dell'edizione Chaos Legion. Con l'upgrade di Lava Launcher e Exploding Rats ho raddoppiato il numero di carte dell'elemento fuoco della collezione Chaos Legion che ho portato al massimo livello.
Gli acquisti che ho effettuato e che ho condiviso in questo post con molta probabilità non saranno sufficienti per tornare a giocare nelle leghe Diamond di Splinterlands ma ho sicuramente fatto un passo in avanti verso il mio obiettivo.
Dopo l'elemento fuoco passerò a potenziare le carte dell'elemento acqua dell'edizione Chaos Legion ma questo sarà l'argomento del mio prossimo post ;)
