Yes, there are lots of areas that would so fit movies out of that era…
Malta has a movie town and quite some famous ones are filmed there.
Like Gladiator, Troy and The Davinci Code.
When I lived there, they where shooting a few. One even in the street I lived at. But than the pandemic came and no shooting further… and I moved out. 😎
