My family and I haven’t visited any crowded places since the pandemic started. We considered ourselves lucky to be on and got off a Norwegian cruise ship right before the virus hit United States.

Slowly, everything has come back to normal. Economy, life, well, pretty much everything except cryptocurrencies. Therefore, We decided to step back to the civilization the weekend.

Don't get me wrong, we do go outside, I was lucky that I can work remotely; my girlfriend's company decided all engineers have to be onsite. Of course, we also go shopping, pick up food, etc. It's just that we have not been to anywhere where a lot people were.

Since we did not plan ahead of time. Therefore, we just went on a trip to visit the local Denver Zoo.

There were plenty people around. Colorado has about 56% of the entire population has received at least one dose, almost 88% of them are fully vaccinated.

We could see plenty people were without masks since the state policy stated that the mask is highly encouraged but not required if the person has both of his/her doses injected.

We all had ours awhile back; however, we still decided to wear ours. Zoo is a popular place for kids, and last time I read from CDC, kids are not getting vaccines yet. We know vaccines only reduce the chance of transmitting and severeness of the symptom. We do not want to risk giving any children in case we were just no symptom individuals thanks to the shots.

This was actually the first time my girlfriend and I have been to the zoo. Colorado is a place for outdoor, plenty nature to explorer, we rarely considered the zoo to be one of our destination. So everything here is news to us.

The zoo operates a animal hospital that allows visitors to see any operations during their visit. We weren’t lucky to see any operations, but guess it is also lucky that no animals need treatment.

We were all adults but could not resist the fun to take aa train ride. Both of us are ethnic Chinese. We had the experience with high-speed trains in China. It is a highly recommended experience to anyone to try. Unfortunately, we do not have it here in United State.

I know citizens of United States, including myself prefer driving, or taking a flight between cities. However, it would be nice to have some less expensive, more environment friendly, more fun of alternative way to travel.

Of course, you are not in Colorado if the weather does not change every fifteen minutes. It is the same case today. The weather forecast shows sunny day all day. Suddenly, it was pouring.

Checking on my phone after hiding inside one of the elephant houses, it changed to thunderstorm. Geez, nice prediction after we can see the rain ourselves…

The elephant was bothered by the rain though; calmingly eat his lunch under the rain. I was surprised how much he ate; he was still chewing after the rain was over.

We had to cut our day short due to wet cloth. It was nice to be able to visit crowd again.
