The great engravers series by the royal mint has captured the hearts and desires of most collectors the world over, I was able to secure one - but just sold it?? Heres Why..

For me its a simple situation of diminishing returns. I bought the coin as its one of if not my fav design ever. But when spending £260 for 2 ounces of silver it better have good potential, and I want to see a solid profit.

I feel the great engravers series is losing its sparkle, its been a great gravy train for those able to board but the simple facts are prices have trended down since the start.

The heady highs received for Una and the lion coins are coming back down to earth. The three graces has never got close and now is much more available.

But the deal breaker for me this year has been the lack of coin dealers contacting buyers of the coins and offering high amounts to buy from them, last year on the day of release offers of 18k and up were being made by dealers to buy the 2oz gold.

None of that this year.

I predict the series will always remain very in demand - but the insane prices realised by una will never be matched.

I sold my coin for £600 netting myself a £340 profit, Thats over a weeks hard work and for me to tempting to take, I do not like holding RM silver for long as spots often appear. Had I had the gold I may have held longer..

Stunning series, But I think its losing its profitability.
