Like any other product, Tribaldex has features which aren't found in other, similar, products. This edition of "Notes from a Novice Trader" is focused on the features which separate Tribaldex from both Hive Engine and LeoDex. Below are the unique features of Tribaldex.

Unique Features of Tribaldex Cheat Sheet

Above is a graphic table showing the unique features of Tribaldex. Below is text version of the same table:

Describing the Unique Features of the Tribaldex

24-Hour Change

These are notes I'm sharing regarding my research into the 3 HIVE DEXs, so they will be subject to change as I discover new things or need to make corections to earlier notes.

Having said that, I will say that Tribaldex has the 24-Hour Change for any Layer 2 token in the same area as BID/ASK. I'm not saying that neither Hive Engine nor LeoDex offer this data, but it seems to me as if it's left for the Tokens page for both Hive Engine and LeoDex.

I'f I'm just curious about how some Layer 2 token or other performed pver the last 24 hours, any of the 3 DEXs would be enough. If I'm pressed for time and need to know that detail before I pull the trigger on a buy or a sell transaction, then I would go with Tribaldex.

Wallet Widget

All 3 HIVE DEXs provide access to a Hiver's wallet. While both Hive Engine and LeoDex provide a text link to the wallet, Tribaldex uses a wallet widget or icon insitead. This widget is located near the login/logout control in the navigation area.

I'm used to seeing the text label "WALLET" at Hive Engine and "Wallet" at LeoDex, so my preference is to view my wallet using the interface at either of those DEXs.

Text or widget, both styles of wallet access are OK; it's simply a matter of presentation and cosmetics.

Liquidity Pools

With about 40 dApps in the Hive Ecosystem and about 120 in the pipeline in various stages of development, there could be alternate ways of accessing liquidity pools. I don't recall seeing them at Hive Projects.

If this is the case, then Tribaldex is the only place where interested investors can take part in liquidity pools (also known as "diesel pools").

It's not difficult to add liquidity or remove liquidity to a diesel pool. I've done both for the SWAP.HIVE:DEC diesel pool, and afterward I added liquidity to the SWAP.HIVE:PIZZA diesel pool.

Much happens behind the scenes at these diesel pools, so it's beyond the scope of this post to comment about them; maybe some day after I solve a few mysteries about them. Regarding the mechanics of adding or removing liquidity, it just takes as couple of minutes and the right amount of tokens in the wallet.

Contracts

I don't know anything about them; it could be smart contracts, or other kinds of contracts; I just don't know. All I can say is that Tribaldex has that feature.

Layer 2 Token Swaps

Technically Hive Engine offer Layer 2 Token Swaps as well, through its connection to the dApp DSwap. Unfortunately, when I tried swapping one token for another this way, nothing happened. When I tried swapping tokens directly at DSwap. nothing happened. Maybe I did something wrong, or the tokens I wanted to swap lacked liquidity; either way, nothing happened those 2 times.

Tribaldex offers direct swaps of Layer 2 tokens in a simple way. Maybe it's a capability native to Tribaldex, maybe Tribaldex has a connection to DSwap; I can't say. All I know is that Tribaldex came through for me when I made my first token swap.

Just as Tribaldex is the place to go to for liquidity pools, Tribaldex is the place to go to for Layer 2 token swaps.

Just My Two Sats

The design of Tribaldex is different from the design of Hive Engine. While the design of Tribaldex more closely resembles that of LeoDex (or even PeakD), Tribaldex is different from both Hive Engine and LeoDex is important ways.

A couple of features are simply cosmetic changes over what's found at Hive Engine and LeoDex:

  • 24-Hour Change is located near BID/ASK data (where it should be);
  • Link to Wallet is via icon/widget rather than a text label.

For anyone needing to work with contracts, Tribaldex is the DEX to use.

Like LeoDex Tribaldex doesn't have many features which separate it from the other HIVE DEXs, but the unique features it has are a big deal (especially liquidity pools and Layer 2 token swaps).
