CME Group Will Launch ETH Futures on February 2021

After the huge success of Bitcoin futures and options, CME Group has announced the launch of Ether futures starting February 8, 2021, pending regulatory review.

“Ether Future” will allow traders and investors to buy and sell Ethereum at a specific price in a predetermined future date. Therefore, those who carry out transactions in Ethereum or simply wish to manage ether risk exposure will be able to trade and hedge Ether risk exposure on CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange), the world’s leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace.

As stated on the CME group official website by Tim McCourt, the Managing Director:

"Based on increasing client demand and robust growth in our Bitcoin futures and options markets, we believe the addition of Ether futures will provide our clients with a valuable tool to trade and hedge this growing cryptocurrency. Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency by both market capitalization and daily volume.
