Playing with CERBERUS : The 3 HEADED MAD DOG!

The previous Splinterlands season has just ended and on the other hand Hive has also completed it's hard fork. There are some very important updates those got released with the new hard fork about curation mechanism. Be sure to read them. One bad news has also came in light that Twitter has suspended the official account of Splinterlasnds without showing any valid reason. We first thought it would be the result of a simple mistake made by some auto-sorting algorithm but it wasn't because on 30th June, 2021 a short and cryptic message from official twitter came to splinterlands where they told that the Splinterlands twitter account has been suspended due to multiple or repeat violations of twitter's rules. Moreover, they said that it's a permanent suspension and they won't monitor any further replies or appeals on this particular account which is really weird and confusing. I know all of us splinterlands lovers are sad about the fact but if we only remorse without taking any action, nothing will get solved. A campaign has already started with hastag #freesplinterlands on twitter to make more people aware of this illogical ban and I request you to post an article or just your thoughts about this incident on twitter using the hashtag above, it will surely help the community get more attention and to move towards getting a positive solution of this problem. I also request twitter to inspect better before judging and suspending splinterlands without giving any valid reasons so far.
But we have some good news as well! Splinterlands has recently being announced as the Game of the month by MarketSquare! I am really surprised and happy that my favorite NFT game is really making some noise in the crypto world and I congratulate the whole team for achieving such an awesome recognition!
So let me now come back to my today's battle post! I missed the Cerberus battle post so today, as I have got plenty of time, let me reintroduce you the mighty 3 headed dog - Cerberus, the mighty 4 mana melee card from the the Fire realm!
Cerberus is literally an old dog of splinterlands the came with the first edition alpha packs and then beta packs splinterlands. This 4 mana card belongs to the fire section and it comes with both normal (both alpha and beta) and gold foil edition as well. This is a pretty old card but obviously a must-have melee monster in whole melee section as well because of his decent mana cost but with a big melee attack that comes with awesome abilities! This furious red eyed monster is packed with such 4 melee attack, 9 health with 5 speed and Healing and Retaliate ability which becomes very reliable in many certain situations, especially in little leagues or low to medium mana ruleset matches. So, If you want something useful like this which may not only soak up decent amount of damage from opponents before going down but as the same time will help you win the match with his strong melee attack and abilities, then the Cerberus can be your best friend!
Now, talking about Cerberus, luckily I do own a level 7 card of this evil entity in ALPHA edition! I bought this card waaay back but wasn't lucky enough to max it in time (before alpha prices really went up to the Moon). So, I will be using my level 7 Cerberus for the sake of today's battle post.
When it comes to using Cerberus in battles, I often it a lot with Alric or Zaku summoner as it delivers me great front defense at 4 mana cost. It's high powered attack with retaliate sometimes make it so demonic that it can take down even decent decent enemies in one round, yes I saw it first hand. So, I will be sharing the battle from my main account mango-juice.
Before moving on, let us first see what's being written in the book of Splinterlore about this mad dog!
It’s not easy being a three-headed dog. The constant bickering, biting and slobbering are always a distraction, and the heads can rarely agree on anything. When summoned to battle, these giant dogs present a fury of claw, flame and fang that is difficult for any monster to get past.
For this beta/alpha edition card, Right now there is currently one max level Cerberus available at the market listing at 385$, costing 4.48$/bcx and total 355,855.440 DEC. However, there are also some high-level Cerberus available at slightly higher prices and The single ones are available starting at 4.74$ and will cost you 4,381.181 DEC as per the current rate.

Level 1- In its initial level, it carries 2 melee attack with 5 health and 3 speed. It brings healing ability at the initial level with it. -
Level 2- At level 2, it carries 2 melee attack at 3 speed and 6 health. -
Level 5- At the 5th level, It possesses 3 melee attack with 7 health at 4 speed. It also brings Retaliate ability at the fifth level with it. -
Level 8- At the maximum level, It possesses 4 melee attack with 9 health at 5 speed.

Line-Up
This time I get a small 16 mana match to prove myself and the worth of Cerberus. 3 splinters were available to choose from and this time I choose speed and attack over shielded defense. I could choose Tyrus Palladium with +2 shields, but I preferred to go with Cerberus and opportunity gang serpentine spy and battle ram due along with Flame Imp to increase the speed. Below is my lineup in detail.
CERBERUS
I chose CERBERUS in the first place because of its 4 mana cost that comes with two incredible stats and abilities - they are Heal and Retaliate. I am using a level 6 and it has 3 melee attack at 5 speed and 8 health.
FURIOUS CHICKEN
I placed FURIOUS CHICKEN in the second place just because of its 0 mana cost and nothing else XD. I have a level 3 and it has 0 attack at 1 speed and 1 health. This is Mainly to protect the reach position and soak up one attack from enemies before going down. As it is a blast, hopefully my chicken will die the first round whenever the Cerberus gets an attack on itself.
CREEPING OOZE
I chose CREEPING OOZE in the third place because of its decent 1 mana cost with Slow ability. I have a level 8 and it has 1 melee attack at 3 speed and 3 health.
BATTERING RAM
I chose BATTERING RAM in the fourth place because of its opportunity attack at high speed at only 2 mana cost. I have a level 8 and it has 1 melee attack at 4 speed and 3 health.
SERPENTINE SPY
I chose SERPENTINE SPY in the fifth place because of its high melee attack at 3 mana cost with opportunity ability. I have a level 8 currently and it has 4 melee attack at 6 speed and 2 health.
FLAME IMP
I chose FLAME IMP in the last place because of its decent magic attack at high speed with swift ability at only 3 mana cost. I have a level 5 and it has 2 magic attack at 4 speed and 2 health.
Battle Result
No doubt it was about to be an unpredictable and volatile match, as guessing what my opponent will use was a pain for me. I was sure that my opponent will use Life summoner palladium with his + 2 shields ability and I may lose to him because for having shield, his monsters will tolerate more blast damages than mine before going down.
But this time I went with a different strategy! I focused on both any attack power and speed so that I can lunch more blast attacks before my opponents even starts! When the lineup got revealed, I found out that he used the death summoner Zintar Mortalis on me and I got some relief. At first he used the Hunted Spirit + screaming Banshee combo at front. The spirit will soak up damages with his big health for long time while his other attackers will do their job. My opponent was also having high level cards also in his backside. He used a level 8 Skeleton Assassin and then a level 6 Undead Priest at the last position. So, overall his line up was great too! Let's look down to the match!

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

My opponent @misterios used beta death summoner Zintar Mortalis against me.

At the front position, he used Hunted Spirit level 6.

At the second position, he puts Screaming banshee level 5.

At the third he used Skeleton Assassin lev 8.

At the fourth position, he puts Undead Priest level 6.
My oppoent's deck was mainly focused on my front position as his 3 out of 4 monsters were attacking
my Cerberus while the sneak assassin was after my Flame Imp. But due to having high speed monsters Serpentine Spy and Battering ram, further given more speed by flame imp and more attack by the summoner Malric, they were super charged from the begin of match and easily beat down opponent's monsters one by one.
But, the main hero of this match is obviously Cerberus who stood still in the first position and even without losing a single point of health thanks to his Healing ability. As I was playing in the Gold league, it was an all max level card play with respect to the gold tier and the battle was awesome. I really enjoyed this gameplay and I hope you too. My opponent @misterios really played great! I face him often on the battlefield and his line ups are great as always! If you are reading this, please give him a shout out ;)
