Greetings, fellow Magic Internet Money Traders and Other Supporters Of The Chains Of Blocks!

Here to tell you about a little phenomenon that happens from time to time on exchanges, not the major game-changing fails or successes that have been pouring over us as of late but tiny anomalies that make it interesting for those keeping a close eye on the situation. Or having the chance to be at the right place at the right time.

It was like an arbitrage thing for me. Or it might be the very definition of arbitrage as understood in regards to asset trading. It's up to the wise and experienced to rule on that. I'll just share what happened in front of my eyes in my own little corner of the galaxy.

I use Bittrex as an exchange. My exchange wallets to bank account experience with them has been great, no reason to change it so far, so I am not splitting my attention and watching mostly that particular one.

Hive wallets, though...and here is one half of the story...are often in maintenance mode. Quite frustrating at times.

So, below is an image showing you with the red arrows cases when I have been able to buy some Hive at about 20% to 10 % discount while the average price of Hive globally was above what it traded on Bittrex. But the wallet withdrawals and deposits were closed at that point. And I guess that is why the price was not updated for a while.

While I was not able to grab it at the very bottom, nor at the buyers-determined price, since I gladly paid the sellers-determined one, I still loaded some goody goods.

Miraculously, the wallet deposits and withdrawals were up and running today and this huge pump, in relative terms, came with it. I say relative, because it's still not at the full average as displayed in our Peakd wallets, for instance.

But...what do you think — was it the hen or the egg? Did they have to buy the lows in order to unlock wallets? Or did unlocking the wallets unleash the market itself?

A couple of things I can tell from what I am looking at.

One, the trade volume and frequency were extra low.

See the time going by without any action? No green, no red candles, no motion at all.I almost think the small green candle where the left red manually painted arrow is was caused by me, buying in two steps. Since there was not enough liquidity at the lower end of the candle or something.

Two, there's a shocking difference between the volume of buy standing Buy offers and the volume of Sell offers.

The figures are quite tiny in this picture. They are right above the middle of the lower table where we can see three rows of Buy Offer prices and Sell Offer prices.

15 K buying. 50 M selling.

It almost look as a little bit more than 3 to one in favour of the sellers but let's notice that it's above 3 000 times that, instead. I'll write down all the digits:

15 000 Hive wanted. 50 000 000 Hive offered.

No advice here, no experienced analysis, no nothing. I am just sharing an observation and inviting experienced analysts lice @cryptospa to comment.

Share your thoughts ;)

Peace!
