Yes, a few very large co-operatives have a very large market share of all retail in Finland as well as Sweden. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case in Norway and Denmark as well. Supermarkets, department stores, restaurant and hotel chains. The S group even has a bank of its own these days. The S and K (Kesko) groups use the franchising model in supermarkets. The stores are owned by individuals while logistics and procurement are handled by the co-operative. The profits made by the co-operatives are distributed to loyalty card carrying customers.
