Now that another Splinterlands season is over it maybe a good time to review on the threshold requirements to reach certain leagues. It will also be helpful for those who are new to the game.

The chart above is from splintercards.com and it summarizes each league's minimum collector power in order to qualify for the specific league. Take a step back there are two requirements to achieve in order to qualify for a specific league. One is the player's rating based on how many battles they win. The second is their collector points. Today's post is focusing on collector points.

Dec Burn Rate

Every card in Splinterlands have a fixed DEC burn rate. This means the card if burned will result to the burner a fix amount of DEC. In collection points that card's DEC burn rate is the collection points. The more cards a player owns the more collection points they hold. Each edition of card and its rarity and foil has a different amount for collection cards.

When a player rents or is delegated a card the collection points of the card goes to the player that can play the card. So for example if owner of a gold foil legend rents or delegates out the card to another user that user now holds the collection points in his account, not the owner.

End of Season Rental Pump

Speaking of the rental market we have in multiple seasons now encountered last days to even last minutes til end of season pump in rentals.

Chart above directly from Splinterlands discord shows how this event occurred just today as it is the end of season. The amount of DEC payed out in rentals have now hit a all time high relative to the past seasons. Amazing!

This demand of rental is due to the fact that a lot of players are trying to have enough collection power in order to qualify for a higher league. For instance the players may have done well enough to have rating be qualified for a gold league however without enough collection power they are stuck in lower league rewards.

This all leads to a frenzy of renting and delegating of cards near the end of season and for players who have a lot of cards to rent it is a day of big earnings.

Tips For Players trying to obtain more Collection Power

Rental market is the first spot to find cards to rent. By end of season cards could be extremely expensive when rented, hence maybe a good idea to start renting a few days to a week before end of season and lock it for longer than a week's rank. However be warned that owner of the card could retract the rental contract prior to expiration so take that into consideration when doing rentals.

Another method is to go on Splinterland's official discord channel to find card owners willing to rent in bulk. Negotiation skills maybe required ;) Link to discord channel provided above.

The most expensive but safest way to earn more collection points is to purchase the card themselves. There are multiple third party sites to purchase cards and have a discount. In game Splinterland's market has links to these sites to choose from. Recommendation for the most rewards is through Card Auctionz. However I feel Monstermarkets stream line of transaction is the best. Also its market user interface is clean and easy to use.

Conclusions

As of today there are new set of rules on how players earn in the different leagues. Splinterlands updated post on the new rules here. A short summary is that the developers are trying to make players continue to level up cards in order to push through to higher ranks and earn more. They would be leaving lower leagues with less rewards to earn.

This is helpful in combating bots from milking the rewards system and also forcing players to merge cards to stay competitive rather than maintaining only level 1 cards. All in all a great initiative to making the game progress in more of a competitive pace and still be entertaining.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!
