Splinterlands - Opening My First Chaos Packs.
If you are surprised all these past few months since Chaos packs started to sell why did I not get any packs? The main reason was I favored buying individual cards rather than packs since I wanted to have a max Chaos deck. Getting the cards through packs will still require some luck, but buying from the open markets reduces the uncertainty.
Today we look at the odds of pulling certain rarity cards and gold foils for the Chaos series and learn what ways can increase our chances of pulling better cards. Then end it with opening my first ever Chaos Legion packs all thanks to @dynamicrypto for the donations. Enjoy.
Percentages of Pulling Gold or Legendary
Chart above is straight out of peakmonsters.com and shows the percentage of getting a card per specific rarity and possibility of it being a gold foil. Taking a careful look and we can see for each pack opened 3.7 cards would be regular, 1 be rare, epic at 0.2 and legendary at 0.04.
In order to increase the odds of pulling a legendary or gold foil card you can purchase potions at the in game market or play daily quests to earn. Each potion works on one card and both potions type increases the chances by doubling odds of pulling either a legendary or gold foil card respectively.
Assuming the maximum odds of earning the highest rarity and potential gold foil when opening a pack will require 5 legendary potions and 5 alchemy potions to add up a total of 10 potions. The odds with the use of potions shown below again courtesy of peakmonsters.
With both potions in use basically 0.04 of the common rate is moved toward the legendary # for total. This really is not much but any added benefit towards pulling a more valuable card is well worth the investment since cards can not change once they are pulled.
My Chaos Packs Opening
With the odds of getting a specific rarity and if gold foil has been reviewed let us look at my pulls from packs gifted to me by my friend @dynamicrypto. I received 4 packs and will open all 4. This will come out to be 20 cards therefore I will be using 20 legendary potions and 20 alchemy potions.

Conclusions
I was lucky to pull my first Chaos gold foil on my first pack but after that it was all general 1 rare cards and 4 common cards. Might I add this was with the use of potions. Although I did not get more than rares I am happy to have now my first ever Chaos Legions cards added to my collection. Again thank you very much @dynamicrypto.
Hopefully readers of my post have better luck with their pulls and got to earn better cards than me. Look forward to using my new Chaos cards in battle.
