RAGNAROK A HIVE BLOCKCHAIN GAME

If you're a Hive Blockchain user lately you would have seen significant pick up and development occurring on the blockchain with a lot more games being developed. Splinterlands really opened the door to what was possible on Hive with Crypto's number one game.

The low fees, fast transaction speeds and Delegated Proof of Stake Network has been making waves. With that it has brought on a number of projects such as MuTerra which will be launching this year a first of its kind that mashes up a number of gaming styles. With players even being able to participate in raids!

Let us not forget Speak Network that will also be launching and has already undertaken snapshots of peoples Hive balance and will distribute tokens to accounts whom were eligible on 6 January 2022.

But there was a lesser known snapshot that also took place on 6 Jan 2022 and that was for the much anticipated game Ragnarok.

What is Ragnarok?

Ragnarok is similar to a game of chess but with a godly twist. Each piece is an NFT character which the airdrop will be dropping to Hive users based on their Hive stack on the 6 Jan 2022. The game will be a turn by turn PVP game as chess is but once pieces reach each other they must battle for victory.

As the name Ragnarok implies the game will be commencing as a Norse mythology set of NFTs. However the Ragnarok announcement stipulates that each year new gods, titans and legendary beings will be added.

Game Play Features

Each god will have their own passive abilities with the added benefit of being able to learn new ones and upskill your piece which will also include pets! Nothing like a good ol hell hound to help when you need the extra bite.

Also healing abilities of pieces are not included i.e. after each round your piece does not rejuvenate so if it dies in battle or is harmed than you need to heal it with a potion.

Pay to Play

As outlined by the Ragnarok team the game will be an annual tournament with the need to register and paying an entry fee prior to playing. But outlined above the team states that players can join at anytime.

Good news with the fee though is that the HBD charged is pooled and placed into a savings account which generates an APY and paid out regularly to players of Ragnarok. Furthermore, playing the game will enable you to win and earn new NFT pieces which can be levelled up and upgraded with new abilities and spells.

Ragnarok is all about the community and BUIDL in a way that benefits it's followers and is currently hosting a Ragnarok Logo Contest with 2,000 hive upfor grabs. No doubt that 2,000 Hive would be a great addition to anyone who wants to build their deck to play.

I also put in a submission for the Ragnarok logo contest myself and it was a really fun and enjoyable process. Really easy to do, just played around with some images in what I thought best represented the game and uploaded onto Hive. If you don't have a Hive account you can create one at PeakD or Ecency.

Even if you don't win the contest there are some really good earning potential through curation. So you don't have anything to lose by joining Hive and participating in the logo
