Australia is on the cusp of another COVID outbreak, we've been slow with vaccines and actual policies to protect people and opted for the hard lock down approach. I entered lock down at 33 I am now 35 losing almost what will be two years of my life as many others will be too. The toll that is beginning to take is emence.

As someone who is fully vaccinated I don't understand the point of me being locked down fully. I understand measures to prevent the spread are needed and I can still contract the virus and pass it on. I have two young kids that can't be vaccinated but a total stay at home order in my opinion is over the top.

I should be able to spend as much time as I like outdoors away from others, grab a coffee and support local businesses even if it is take away.

Australia once led now falls behind

We once led the world on management of COVID with lowest cases in any nation, this was due to our island nation and vast land with dispersed population. But as each day ticks by that good track record comes under threat and we are at risk of another outbreak.

We're also doing poorly with vaccination rates, our population is only 25 Million and we've managed to vaccinate only 9.8% of the population fully.

This comes as revelations emerge that our government argued with Pfizer and tried to offer pennies for the vaccine. It took our former Prime Minister and Australian ambassador to the US (I think his still the AUS ambassador) to organise a meeting with US business men and women to meet with Pfizer and negotiate a better deal for Australia. It's caused our current Prime Minister Scott Morrison to look even more incompetent than he already is. You can read the article Here

The Black Economy

It's been long known that the black economy has provided a barrier to governments in securing hot spots with many fearful of criminal prosecution if caught. Yet many still take the risk which impacts contact tracers from doing their role ultimately making the government look incompetent.

In Victoria a some what armistice occured where the health department would not pass on criminal matter to the police in order to ensure the safety of all Victorians.

However, many did not take up the armistice requiring further investigation and lieing to contact tracers. In these incidents the matter was forwarded onto police.

We now have an outbreak of the Delta Variant which was brought into Victoria from New South Whales. The initial story was that they were furniture removalists drove from point A to point B and that was all. However, Delta variants have been breaking out across many towns and cities. It wasn't long until contract tracers identified the removalists as the culprits.

Further investigation identified that there were two removalist tucks being used not just one. At the centre of the transportation turns out it wasn't just furniture but narcotics (Alleged). This has now caused a 5th wave in Victoria and were all under house arrest.... the removalists didn't even share! (Kidding)

Black Economies are renowned across the globe none more prominent than Italy where it makes up 3% of the nations total GDP.

South American countries are further known to be well involved in the Black Economy and drug trafficking.

With such a prominent industry booming underground which is fed by consumerism is it time that governments started Legalising illicit drugs?

We've seen how Legalising marijuana has boosted the economies in the US and driven down incarceration rates.

Is it time the world begins decriminalising it entirely?
