the geographical restrictions of fiat are completely eliminated when you take a digital, distributed ledger technology into consideration. You don't even need a hardware wallet to move across physical borders without issue, you can keep BTC stored in a Lightning Network node, outside of anyone else's control. There is so much utility being built into the Lightning Network (and also via the Hive Lightning bridge).
