Another new month, another chance to look at the comparison of the Hive and Steem prices.

Here's the full price history for Hive compared to that for Steem over the same period.

I've pulled the data from Binance which explains why the very earliest price data for Hive are missing. This includes the drop to 10c Hive and the start of the April pump.

HIVE v STEEM: September and October 2020

And here's the price history comparison focused on just September and October.

For most of September the two coin prices moved in sync, tied together to an almost ridiculous extent. Alt coin prices are often quite heavily correlated, taking their lead from movements in BTC, but the similarities here were extreme.

October has seen the start of a divergence, with Hive falling faster than Steem. The price difference is now around 15%.

It's not been a good couple of months for altcoins in general and certainly not for Hive. Here's hoping November sees a rebound!
