Leofinance - Web 3.0 brought to life

Hi reader, if you're in tech then you must have heard about the term web 3.0, even if you're not in tech, there are chances that you must have come across this term more than once, however, most people find it difficult to process it or understand how it is of benefit to anyone beyond what is presently offered in the traditional web 2.0.

The truth is Web 3.0 is a new paradigm so vast that one definition cannot justify what it entails, this post intends to show you a glimpse into what can be achieved through it.

It is safe to assume that almost everyone with a connected device uses or have at one time used websites such as Facebook, Youtube, Reddit, Medium and the likes, these content hosting platforms have been the major highlight of Web 2.0, they provide the database to store users content and several tools that enable users have a seamless experience.,

As a result, a whole lot of traffic is generated and monetized and the lions share of the revenue remains within the company offering the website while bits are shared as rewards to the users generating most traffic. It is no surprise why these companies pocket nothing short of $10billion in yearly revenue.

It is no doubt that Web 2.0 played a huge role in revolutionalizing how some business are being done by ultimately improving them through providing tools that users can use to gain wider reach and form communities around themselves, the obvious fact remains that these users have become merely products in the hands of these companies.

Web 3.0 is a paradigm shift which aims to switch up the status quo by providing tools that enable users to become owners rather than products and participate in the revenue sharing through tokenization. This concept have since been explored by several brilliant minds in the tech space, but sometimes what might seem great on paper does not always follow through in reality.

Leofinance

Somewhere along the way, Leofinance was born. Leofinance is a community based platform where users share content relating to Cryptocurrency, Stock market, Traditional finance, Decentralized finance and several other financial topics. It began as an experiment about 9 months ago and has gone through several developmental stages to achieve what a platform based on web 3.0 should look like.

I've been writing about Cryptocurrency for almost two years so I was very elated to jump aboard the Leofinance ship at its inception because it felt like I finally found a tailored community where my content could thrive alongside other users with whom I share common interests.

Investment wise, Leo tokens have been the highlight of my entire year, at the time when I invested in Leo tokens, I was very much aware that it was merely an experiment and anything could happen, but since it was a project I was in tune with, I invested anyway, I bought about 4k leo tokens when they were worth merely around $0.03.

One of my regrets was selling off almost half of the tokens during the Steem-Hive debacle, there was so much FUD and people started to dump hard, I was going to sell off all too but after selling off 1k+ I decided that it was absurd, after buying in and accumulating what I had with a lot of sweat, the prices at which they would have been sold were ridiculous, so I decided I wasnt going to sell of any more and keep the rest and whatever happens happens.

Well, several months from that time and 1leo token is now worth about $0.26 today, my holdings have gone up more than 20x in dollar worth and is growing steady, making it my best investment of the year.

For someone who comes from a third world country where such opportunities are almost non existent, which no traditional banks can ever dream of offering, I will choose to put all my money into Leofinance 10 times and over than save it with traditional banks, no risks no rewards isn't it? I'm building all the way till I can start earning a minimum wage through curation alone because why not?! Fantasy? Some are living it already!

Through Leofinance, I'm exposed daily to market trends and information regarding cryptocurrencies through contents from both noobs, pro financial analysts and blockchain experts, which greatly impacts my investment choices and knowledge,... while I reward these contents I also inturn reward myself through the curation mechanism, thereby growing my stakes.

Leofinance does bring to life the aspect of Web 3.0 which allows me to share in the success of the platform by actively growing my stake in the Leo token. Leofinance doesn't make me feel like a product or user but a owner.

Understanding that Web 3.0 is a much more robust system of tools that empower users, Leofinance is one of the applications tapping into its resource to revolutionalize what a user centric platform should be and doing it right. I'm Mistakili, a blockchain enthusiast, writer and crypto trader and this is my Leo story.

This is my response to the challenge from @josediccus based on the topic "My Leo Story".

I hope this story inspires one or more people out there to tap into the possibilities of Web 3.0 through Leofinance,....this thing is for real,....Thanks for reading....
