This is how we know we are living in the metaverse. It just hit me that anyone who has followed my blogs for a reasonable amount of time span most likely know more about me than those that know me only offline. I talk to more people online(digital realm) than I do offline(physical realm), if you were to visualize this, itā€™s not so different from the Ready Player one movie.

I spend more time with more people online than offline, the only difference is that I donā€™t get to wear a virtual reality headset thatā€™s plugged into some super computer.

Just visualize this, in the digital realm, I operate from a country called Hive, where my occupation is creating content, curating and gaming along side everyone I interact with daily with each their profession, people whose identities are based on the personas theyā€™ve created and the life they live on Hive.

Visualize Hive like a state within a country, or just as it is commonly referred to, a Community, and visualize every other immersive digital application or communities as theirs, Twitter, TikTok, e.t.c they all form one big universe, the digital one. The coexistence of both physical and digital realm results to the Metaverse.

My source of income is gotten through my activities in the digital realm, majority of my investment is digital.

The other day I was having a talk with my Dad, he was dadsplaining how he already had 2 lands at my age, while I may not have physical lands, Iā€™ve got digital properties that dwarfs the worth and potential of the land he acquired at my age, this is how we know we are already living through the metaverse.

Speaking of lands. A plot of land on Splinterlands goes for $700 at current prices. I had the chance to buy when it was just $20 but I slept on it. A full land(region) recently got sold for almost $700k. I donā€™t know about you but if I was given the option, Iā€™ll def put my money in a digital land on Splinterlands than the physical one in Nigeria. Maybe itā€™s just me though.

Interesting how a lot of self acclaimed experts try to explain the metaverse but end up making it so seem so complex. This is practically as good ast it gets and understandably we are in the very early stages of it.

The whole world has become a digital global village, powered by the internet, blockchain technology, VR and AR technology among others, a Metaverse where we operate under totally different protocols than what we are used to in the physical realm.

I mean, just look at our model of Decentralized governance on Hive, DPOS, employing a stake weighted voting system, a DAO, totally different from what we have in the centralized physical realm.

These are things that have never existed before. As humans, we have evolved from living in a Universe to living in Metaverse.

Check out the monetary system, DeFi, talking about liquidity pools and permissionless automated market making, enabling operations that arenā€™t possible in the physical realm on TradFi. NFTā€™s, web3.0, GameFi, extending the possibilities of gaming, Art, property in the physical realm.

Again, we are still very much in the early stages, we may not have all the gadgets itā€™ll take to make it as immersive as the movies we watch. While some are trying to stall this inevitable innovation by creating stumbling blocks, some are already living it to its full capacity given the tools available at this time and others havenā€™t come to the realization of it.

My hope is that when more people become aware, that theyā€™ll discover HIVE, because it is truly one ecosystem in its entirety that gives the realest experience of the Metaverse.

Thanks for reading. Iā€™ll love to read your thoughts on the comments.
