Hi guys, so I attended the Privacy-on-THORChain-debate today and it was enlightening, a lot of questions were answered, the lead THORChain dev gave many valid reasons as to why privacy chains should be integrated now, and I understood clearly. Other people also aired valid opinions about why privacy chains shouldn’t be integrated yet.

Ultimately the final decision is up to the node operators according to their votes. But in my opinion, the reasons to integrate privacy chains outweigh the reasons not to, I think everyone who attended the meeting also got this memo. THORChain being a non KYC platform is already on the radar of regulators so it’s not a matter of if,! they will come for it at some point.

So the fear of regulators coming for THORChain shouldn’t prevent developments from following through when needed as is now. One thing is quite evident though, and that’s in its decentralization, THORChain’s complexity makes running it expensive.

This can be a barrier to its decentralization, not like there’s presently a cause for concern, but the community have woken up to this drawback and have started to look for ways to reduce operation costs so that the protocol can be further decentralized.

My final thought is that. Why the hell are we playing tiptap with regulators for, we aren’t criminals, if a policy is enacted and is unconstitutional, how do we challenge this in court? How do we tell regulators who don’t know what their doing to at least do some research? These are the main things!!!

What OFAC did to the Tornado cash developer is unconstitutional and should be challenged, if not, I can bet there will be the time when they will sanction everybody using crypto and nobody will be able to do anything about it again! Why are we trying to out do, out code, out think, out fight, out do the regulators every damn time when we aren’t even doing anything wrong. Like isn’t there some rule of law anymore?

I have a huge feeling Privacy is coming to THORChain, the Node operators will take this on.
