Is Algorand an Ethereum Killer?

Algorand (algo) is still in its early stages, but based on its success so far, it could be a long-term winner. Launched in 2019 algo has been on a steady growth path.

It has secured millions in funding for developments and has many third-parties now operate within its ecosystem. Looking at the financials it's far from ETH size, but with its smart contract capabilities, transaction speeds, and focus on being a bridge between centralized and decentralized systems, it does look like it might give it a run for its money in the future.

Algo scored a win with the onboarding MAPay. The healthcare payments processor is using the network to facilitate over $800 million in payments for Bermuda’s healthcare system. This is a great use case and I can't wait to see large US based healthcare payments processor join. As an early investor and believer in algo I'm excited to see this progress.

However, it's not always exciting being an Algo investor because the price action has been pretty slow as compared to other ETH killers...

At this point unless we get back above $1 I could see more pain as bad news continues to hurt over all markets.
