Keeping your Hive tokens and crypto's safe

Hello Hive

It usually saddens me and I guess everyone whenever anyone falls a victim of crypto hack and stolen funds.
Sometimes this results in a total loss of ones crypto from a system if everything is saved up in one computer and the likes.

Everyone is screaming to buy a cold wallet and keep your crypto's offline as the most safest storage for your tokens but it seems like it has been easier said than done by alot of crypto holders.

Am not sure what the reasons might for the individual delay in getting the wallet might be, maybe cold wallets are expensive ( they can't be too expensive for your crypto portfolio and probably to keep those huge amount of tokens safe) or that they are not easily accessible.

Nevertheless while there is still a slacking hands at doing this one can still keep their tokens safe taking some of these precaution.

  • Gmail and cloud storage aren't good for your keys, as they could get hacked as well.

  • Do not share your computer containing your keys with a second party regardless of how crypto ignorant you think they are.

They can mistakenly copy those files which have little meaning to them and pass to hackers.

  • Keeping your keys on an external device like a flash drive and securing the flash might be a good safety measure.

  • Avoid clicking links and messages from different sources.

It will be a note wordy piece of advice to operate two devices, either mobile phones or computer, here you can use one device strictly for your crypto transactions and portfolio's while the other device can be use as a social media or whatever activities you wish.
These keeps your keys strictly away from the internet and devices that may click on harmful links

Hive is a relatively safe place to store your crypto so long as you are able to keep your keys offline and safe and safe as well.

I don't know what companies produce cold storage and stuffs like that but I wish that hive can produce something customized like that just like pysberX opted to customize devices foe their gaming.
