Buying silver is always something i recommend but buying collectable silver is better as it has the base price of the metal plus a collectable value, what i got today is not really in the collectable bracket as such and is from a by gone era.

What i got today are four random silver napkin rings, these usually come in a set of 4 or 6 and where for families to show of wealth at dinner parties and really they fell out of use in the 1930s, they come in loads of patterns and shapes and where used to hold a linen napkin on the table.

These are seldom collected by anyone so the precious metal is the main attraction but i have a soft spot for silver items from yester year, they can still be used but christmas dinner is only once a year but they do make a nice decoration.

The weights differ but usually weigh around 10 to 15 grams a ring and can be picked up at flea markets and carboot sales for the price of scrap or sometimes lower.
