A game that is sounding a lot and I'm sure many have seen it at least once in our blog, Splinterlands, that's right, today I come to tell you how I entered and how I'm doing so far, and somehow encourage you to be part of this and even more if you like card games.

At the beginning of this year this game caught my attention due to the amount of publicity from colleagues in our HIVE network and also outside of it, I decided to investigate it a little and I noticed the reliability of the project, the trajectory and its good economy, but when I saw that it was a card game I hesitated, that kind of games do not convince me and I discarded it. Several months passed and I was entering other projects (outside HIVE) and I fell again in Splinterlands this time with another criterion and I decided to log in once and play. I spent several hours playing in a tutorial mode and I definitely said that this game was not for me, I did not understand what was happening, I did not understand the order of the cards, the attacks, so many things. Once again I put it aside, but this time I kept researching and trying to understand it.

Two months later if my memory doesn't fail me, I bought the spellbook and decided to play seriously, I thought, I can't learn if I don't play it, theory is nothing without practice, so I can say that I'm playing Splinterlands since August even though the system says that I entered in June.

The spellbook has a cost of 10$ and can be paid in Paypal or any cryptocurrency, of course also in HIVE, a spellbook is an object that gives me the opportunity to play in the arena against other players using some basic cards of the system, however they are not so strong or have enough power to achieve league advancement and get better rewards. In that month you could still win some DEC in the bronze league, and in the chests won from the daily missions I got to win 700 DEC in one go, sometimes some cards, the DEC is the token in case you are wondering. Then they eliminated all this and to be able to get some DEC you must be in the BRONZE II league, and to advance in the league you must have power, that's right, and the power is based on the cards you have owned or rented.

At first I got several DECs and very few cards, but then as I understood the game I decided to invest by renting cards to other players and I managed to be in the Bronze I league at the end of the season all my chests gave me cards, and I consider them to be good cards.

Every 15 days there is a new season, all players go out to the arena to compete with their cards, the best players move up to better leagues and those who lose are demoted to lower leagues, the default base league is Rookie. There are only two requirements to move up a league, win and have power.

Before my power bar did not reach half at the beginning of the season, I started in Novice and I had to rent some cards to move to Bronze III, it gives me great satisfaction to see how my deck has been growing and my power too, once I won a golden card, what a thrill, I have only one but it is my golden card and it gives me a good power. A colleague after playing for a while got tired and decided to sell his cards, I bought them all, some were repeated and I merged them to increase his level, I have some level 2 cards because of that.

Now my power is at 1560 without renting any card, this allows me to reach Bronze II without renting any card and if I manage to win several battles.

Something that helps a lot in this game is to belong to a guild, clan or alliance, I am a member of the clan [Cryptolibertad](https://discord. gg/zzqWsHDM8n) and that has allowed me to participate in the fights between guilds, sometimes I do well but other times I do terrible like this last one I was second worst :(, when I win in this kind of battles I get merits and a coin that allows me to buy cards in the guild store, these cards can be used in the battles between clans but not in the arena, however the power they give is added to the general power. I show you the cards I have so far:

We are just starting a new season and the battles start very bloody, I spend more than an hour renting cards in the market and renting them for 14 days at a time, that way I am ready to enter the arena and start the battle. This was my season result and my prizes:

As you can see most of them are potion bottles, which I imagine I will never be able to use, you should activate some way to make them useful, it could be exchanging them for credit or something like that. The card is a light in all that darkness of potions.

I like the game quite a lot, I will not deny it, I went from not liking it to liking it a lot, the lore of the cards is fantastic, I love the design, the gameplay is well done because we can skip the battle or pause or increase the speed, repeat or share, it is something that is rarely seen in other games. The problem is that luck plays a very important role, it is not only strategy but luck, the fact that I miss hits when I should not and my opponent hits when I should miss them is something that I do not tolerate and worries me a lot, and this happens to me very often, at the end of my routine I end up somewhat annoyed even if I have done well. As I play the capture rate power goes down, it's like the percentage of voting power used in HIVE, but here it's to get DEC, I stop playing when my capture rate reaches 80%.

The sale of the new Chaos Legion cards is coming, they are all sold out, they have not been released yet but they are already sold, I don't think I will be able to buy any of them for now. I think that the cards of past editions will continue to increase their value despite the new ones, what do you think?

If you are one of those who are undecided whether to play or not I encourage you to do it with the following link "I will play Splinterlands", invite me for some friendly battles and learn together.

I am very active in the Discord community "Virtual World" daily we do giveaways of various projects of our HIVE network and others, you are cordially invited. If you like NFT content I invite you to follow me and don't miss any giveaways.
