Overall guild performance

Our guild, Splinter Skulls, placed fourth in this brawl. We ended the brawl with a record of 41 wins, 32 losses, and 0 draw. From this brawl, we only got x10 CROWNS, and each participating member got a whopping 462 Merits!

First time to fight against Gladius monsters

It was a very close match for the third spot. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get two more wins to secure that third spot. A likely factor why we had a harder time in this brawl compared to the previous ones is because this is our first time to face against guilds that use Gladius monsters. It's quite fun (and scary) to see them in the arena.

Battle frays: where did I participate?

Well, well, well. It looks like I'll be joining Novice Alpha/Beta fray until I stop playing brawls. It's just so much fun to play in this fray. I hope that someone will host a tournament based on this Novice fray rules.

Similar to my previous brawl, the star of this brawl for my team is Selenia Sky. Her +1 ranged attack and the dragon monsters that you can unlock with her are just too hard to ignore. Continue reading to watch her in action in the match replays!

Mozzie's performance and battles highlight

For this brawl, my record was 6 wins and 1 loss. One of those wins was from an opponent who fled. While this is a good record, it was still disappointing because I performed poorly on a match that mattered -- against Yield Guild Dragons. In the first four teams that I have submitted, I was quite happy that I was on a roll. This gave me confidence that I will be able to win all the remaining battles. However, that did not happen.

18 points and 462 merits in this brawl!

That 1 loss is crucial!

I flopped on the most important match for this brawl! If I have won that, our team would have placed third in this brawl. Oh well, it sucks that I was obliterated by their player. But I'm happy that I learned a new strategy. Watch the replay on the bottom part of this post to see how I was demolished by Yield Guild Dragons.

FAVORITE MATCH

This might be obvious already -- but my favorite match is Battle #5. As much as I hate losing, I can't deny that my enemy played very well. To add to that, their lineup also gave me an idea on how I can utilize a Gladius card in the future.

In Battle #5, the rules were Aim True and Keep Your Distance, making our choice of tanks very limited. As you can see, we both thought that the best tank for this ruleset is Peaceful Giant. In my case, I have put Dark Enchantress in the second position, followed by two more magic monsters and 2 ranged monsters at the last position.

For my enemy, all of the monsters that deal damage are ranged attackers, with 3 of those having the Snipe ability. This is what set us apart.

I haven't thought of going heavy Snipe in this match. My strategy was to put magic monsters up front, so that it can still attack once Peaceful Giant dies. That strategy failed miserably for me. By the end of Round 3, the match was already concluded with Peaceful Giant the only remaining monster from my team.

There you have it! Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoyed reading about my experience in this guild brawl.
