Top cocoa producing country Ivory Coast plans to Revitalize their Forest with 1.5billion Dollars and therefore Seeks support
Cocoa one of the major cash crops all over the world has more to offer than been thought of. Its returns,dividends, profits and lots more drives attention as it is consumed by millions in the world today. Could it be thought that its a major employment opportunity for those that engage in its farming as it provides sustainability and a major boost to economy at large. Unlike other cash crops,cocoa farming though requires less time on the other hand requires capital as it has a lot of inputs at different stages of plantation. The fact that it is a cash crop makes it a unique crop In the sense that if its not well taken care of, it won't be consumed nor exported.
The world’s top cocoa producer wants the private sector to invest in a $1.5 billion plan to restore degraded forests and increase food production.
The Abidjan Initiative, a five-year plan, fits into a longer strategy to mitigate the impact of climate change on Ivory Coast’s natural and agricultural resources, according to the government. “It’s crucial that we restore our land,” Prime Minister Patrick Achi said Tuesday at a United Nations conference held in the commercial capital, Abidjan. “If we fail to do so, 2% to 6% more households will fall into extreme poverty by 2030.”source
It now calls for empowerment. Looking at the aspect of investment, one could also set in if given the role to support in terms of buying as shares. Investing on this won't only bring out turn ups but the closeness and business ordeals proves it much more. Calling for to draw the attention of investors,and government support in that it is more than a farming process but also creates room for employment. In a state(country) where there is less employment opportunity but has ways to wave in development and job opportunities through the enhancement of what they are blessed with balances the economy of that state to an extent and also fulfills dreams.
