I have a particular interest DEFI area and use many DEFI applications, some for experimental purposes and some for return. Today, I want to share with you what I have experienced in the field of DEFI by summarizing the table below. You can access the full list of blockchains that can be used in the DEFI area via the link https://defillama.com/chains.

ChainDominant AppWalletTrx CostTrx SpeedApp & Product Diversity
EthereumUniswapMetamaskHighNormalVery High
BSCPancakeswapMetamaskMediumNormalHigh
PolygonQuickswapMetamaskLowNormalHigh
HiveBeeswapHive KeychainLowFastLow
SolanaSaberPhantomLowFastNormal
TronJustswapTronlinkMediumNormalLow

I did not include any information about security in the table, because I am not in a position to assess this issue. I would like to make a brief assessment of each network.

Ethereum

Ethereum, the network where DEFI was born, has the largest variety of applications and products. It is possible to find multiple application alternatives in categories such as DEX, lending, yield, insurance, options, staking, synthetic assets. It's a network I've used very little to date because the transaction costs are not suitable for realizing small or medium cap investments.

BSC

BSC has become the network that enables large audiences to meet DEFI applications thanks to its reasonable transaction costs. It is by far the leader in terms of the number of users. Although the financial product&app variety is not as large as Ethereum, there are a reasonable number of alternatives in each category.

Polygon

Polygon is an important alternative in the field of DEFI, which offers the opportunity to use the Ethereum infrastructure with close to zero transaction costs. Although the transaction speed is a little slower than BSC, it is ideal for DEFI investors who trade too much. Especially those who want to try the DEFI concept and make small investments can benefit from the Polygon infrastructure. Polygon has an infrastructure that makes the adaption very easy for Ethereum applications. That's why major Ethereum Defi applications are also available on the Polygon network.

Hive

I like doing DEFI operations on the Hive chain because it is fast and inexpensive. Currently - as far as I know - the only alternative is Beeswap. Liquidity pools on Beeswap have created a new use case for Hive tokens. With the advantage of knowing @anadolu, the creator of Cent token, I became one of the first investors of the Cent/Hive liquidity pool. Although it was a fairly small investment, it turned out to be quite productive. Over time, I plan to increase my investments here.

Solana

Solana network, which is the rising star of the last period, provides the opportunity to perform fast and low-cost DEFI transactions, just like Hive. I especially like the Orca app. Although the price of the Solana ecosystem coins has increased rapidly in the recent period, I see the future of the Solana ecosystem as bright.

Tron

https://peanut.nutbox.io/ which enables customers to earn Peanut (hence Trx) by staking Steem runs on the Tron network. On this occasion, I had the opportunity to experience the Tron network. It may be attractive for those who hold Tron ecosystem tokens and Steem.

Conclusion

DEFI platforms are important in terms of creating additional yield from the coins we hold. You may not find it necessary to distribute your investments across multiple networks. I prefer to invest in more than one network to manage security risk and benefit from attractive investment alternatives in different networks. I plan to limit my DEFI investments to Hive, Solana, and BSC over time. Because I like Solana in terms of speed and design, BSC in terms of application diversity, and Hive in terms of growth potential.

Thank you for reading.
