My honest opinion is i think the reason decentralized social media doesn't make alot of progress is because i think it doesn't really resonate with people in any sense of urgency. If we look back 20 years ago we could use p2p networks to establish private networks outside of mainstream social media. We did that over the decades and they never caught fire and there still to date has been no major breaches or 1984 scenarios.

That's all important because people have a long history of not acting until there is a clear and present danger. So i think it's kinda at this point a waste of time to focus on that narrative. I think what we should focus on is the clear and present danger of automation.

That's what i think resonates with people and the mainstream. Like i don't think in 50 years or more we'll have the issues with centralized social media we're thinking about. I think we will need to focus on a world that can employ people. A world where a low skilled worker or limited capacity thinking individual can still do something of some value or production and earn a living from it.

So i feel that will happen in the entertainment and even gaming areas. I literally think people going to be sitting around one day doing these blogs sending value to one another to make up for the shortcomings of jobs that won't be available. So i think its' more useful to bring that to their attention other than if some jerk got kicked off social media. You're going to always have the concern of okay if we going to let anything go online and you just accept it and avoid it. Well you're always going to have a society of folks who don't wanna be part of that platform. So that's a complicated situation where many people don't think the same. For example let me ask you this question.

When certain people get kicked off platforms do you feel everyone agrees they should be allowed to stay on them in their community? Absolutely not people don't all feel the same. So they won't all adopt this idea of everyone should have the freedom to incite what in some cases could be very dangerous. I'm not saying that the government should have the right to any suppression or control over the people. However at the end of the day in most western governments the people should be represented in which case the people should be holding their governments responsible.
