There are tons of exciting news from Splinterlands, just for this week and I thought it would be nice if I can gather those news that I know into this blog so that it can bring more awareness to the Splinterlands community whenever someone else read it.

Guideline

I try to stick to the following guidelines

  1. Splinterlands Related News
  2. News that I came across or remembered, so it is not comprehensive but these news are crucial in my own personal level.
  3. The news usually are recent or updates on the ongoing progress.

So here we goes, hoping after reading this, you will be also even more excited for Splinterlands.

News Number 1: Updates on Land!

Land Version 1.5 is planning to be rolled out in Q1, that means before end of march which is less than 5 weeks time. In v1.5, eventually you can expect to stake cards and DEC to work/build on the land to produce SPS and land resources!! There is even potential competition like staking cards on land to fight for a share in the common big pool of SPS.

News Number 2: Exchange listing

Interesting, during the hype, Aggy mentioned that they are not looking for exchanges listing. But now since the requirement or costs have dropped 90% and there are quite a significant amunt in the SPS Dao, is this a good time to consider that?

News Number 3: Last Chaos Legion Dragon Summoner revealed!

Soon you may be able to receive this cutie in your airdrop claim. +1 health, camo and triage to the team. This will definitely add more dynamic to the gameplay.

News Number 4: Changes to gameplay and User experience

This can be important as it may cost you to win or lose the game. The following rules have been changed

  1. It has been happened for a while already but still some people had yet to realise so I am gonna point it out. Opportunity skill no longer works in Fog of war!
  2. Dispel and Life Leech no longer works on secondary targets affected by blast.
  3. Scattershot can now hit camo creatures.
  4. Brawls can now also choose the respective promo and reward cards for the related core frays.

There is also improvement in the user interface.

You can now easily filter the corresponding reward and promo cards according to their edition. I also love how they group the core and mini edition together into 1 main set.

News Number 5: Market Listing Fee of 1DEC!

This can be a huge impact in the renting and purchasing market. The idea is to reduce the number of transaction of listing and renting since people are throat cutting one another and leads to insane transaction load and creating backlog in the server. It is going live soon so make sure you do the necessary changes before that.

News Number 6: Tower Defense updates!

The name of the tower defense is now officially know as soulkeep. And it could be available to try out in weeks to come. It will be interesting to see how it can affect the SL ecosystem.

News Number 7: Possible Collaboration Mini Set

If you play mobile games, you wont be a surprised that there is frequent collaboration between the games and IP anime/movie/manga/brands etc. It seems like there is a possibility that Splinterlands may be able to work on a collaboration with some of the IP. However, this also means that there may come out another mini set on top of the existing mini set that accompanies a core set. Given how Riftwatchers are only able to sell than 1 million after a number of months, we can see how many of the players are quite drained out with all the promo sets, rewards sets, core and mini sets. Is the community still have the capability to take on another mini set or will the community be too overwhelm??

News Number 8: Ranked Battles changes

Usually you will drop by 3 leagues or 1 big league in your rating when a season is over. From the next season onwards, players will only drop by 2 leagues instead. So if you finish at gold 1, you are actually still reset in gold league as gold 3 in the new season. This seems to be a promising change but i dont know if this will cause a rating inflation in the longer run. However, it should still be a positive situation cause there is just so little people especially in championship 1. There are also other smaller changes like bronze players will always reset to at least bronze 3. There is no way for any players to "fall back" into novice. Novice league will be purely for new players to focus on experimenting with the cards/systems/attacks/gameplays.
Champion 2 and 1 will also just have a gap of 300 rating difference as the min requirements to be promoted from the previous league.

As you can see there are tons of information just within this 1 week. I do hope you like this compilation from me.
