Thanks very much to the @coingecko support team.

Ref: Coingecko

10 days ago I wrote an article about the outdated information on the coingecko website in regards to Hive.

I tagged the support team on twitter and logged a direct ticket with their support team as well.

in the beginning I didn't expect to see any results. There was no reply on twitter to the outreach and their support team politely rebuffed my approach to update the information.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. For this kind of request, please inform the project team to reach out to us directly regarding this issue.
This is to make sure that all requests are coming from the project teams for security purposes. Thank you.

I sent them on a lot of the information in the last post that I created with the intention of showing them some of the points that could be highlighted with regards to the chain and then get some input from the witnesses on what could be there.

The post was here and you can see how poorly our chain was presented to the general public.

Today I logged in to find that the team had taken my text and used it to update the website with a lot more information and the infographics that I sent to them.

My intention was to open the lines of communication and consult with the witnesses to create a full narrative for our token but in the meantime I am happy to see a much more impressive picture of Hive presented to the wider public.

This is what they will find now when they look at the Hive page.

  • Reference and link to hive.blog.

  • Infographics.

  • Information on the eco-system.

  • HBD.

  • No mention of STEEM.

  • Links to on chain news, https://peakd.com/b/badge-321321

  • Even a sneaky link to Leopedia.

I think that this is a very positive move and delighted to see that after a little gentle persuasion that the @coingecko support team made some rapid changes after a few more emails back and forth.

Hi, X. Thanks for the swift reply. As Hive is a decentralized blockchain there is no centralized point of contact for the project as it is ran by block producers and stakeholders. I do understand the security concerns with regards to unverified information so would your team have an existing point of contact from our witnesses or marketing team? If you can tell me who is your existing point of contact then I will get them to contact you directly and bring the page up to date.
Regards, Niall.

Hi, Regarding this request, I have created a ticket to our Evaluation Team so that they can review the information you have provided. We will update you once we get a feedback from them. Have a great day and stay safe!

It's great to see how the team responded so fast to my original ticket, followed up afterwards to my replies and then went ahead to complete the request.

I was delighted to log onto their site today and see the changes. It just goes to show that we can all do a little bit to grow the eco-system. even if it's something as silly as emailing a customer support team.

That is why they are the my favorite site to use for tracking tokens and portfolios for a long time. It would be great to see them posting to Hive and especially Leofinance again.

It wasn't the original plan for them to directly quote the examples but I do think that it's a significant improvement on the old page that was there last week.
