Dragons for me always starts with Drake of Arnak. I have others but he is the only dragon summoner that I need and the rest are on the rental market. Shield is just handy across almost every ruleset and he opens up the dragon door.

The ruleset for this battle was:

No melee. Only commons.

15 Mana.

This was a very small mana battle so I couldn't unleash any of my big dragons but I still had Drake on the field. I like these battles as they can often take more thought than just putting out the highest mana monsters and trying to overpower the opponent. It won't be a long battle but should be a fun one.

With only commons and no melee that was always going to mean magic. No point in using range as they would be in first position very fast and therefore useless.

I used one of my favorite tank combinations from life of Pelacor Conjuror and Dax Paragon. The conjurer is such a good card that I've bought up multiple maxed versions for resale later. I can see it being a very popular card for years to come. Then combine it dax for amplify and it gets very dangerous. I've used it so many times and won so many of them.

For the first time that I can remember, round three came before the first kill. With so few monsters on the pitch they are very fast rounds and since my Dax hasn't managed to afflict their cube it is taking a while to get past it.

It won't be long until the first kill however as my conjuror has taken it's toll on the opposing team. Especially with amplify, it is doing a lot of damage to their magic creatures and will kill off any attack that they have in the next round of the game.

First, second and third kills all came together. First their Sorceress died from reflection. Then i attacked and then their other magic healer attacked and died by reflection while taking out my conjuror at the same time.

That removed all of their attack power and set up an interesting finish. Six magic attack against six healing.

The cube is a very interesting and useful card that has annoyed me plenty times in the past just by outlasting my attacks until attrition.

Fortunately for me, affliction finally took hold and stopped their cube from healing. Without this one little trait i wouldn't have won the match and they would have just outlasted me by healing up by 6 every single time.

A horrible way to lose but luckily i had the right cards on the field and managed to get the win.

The chicken at the end is just a bit of cannon fodder and didn't really have a purpose.

Happy to get the win in a tight game like this.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.
