A Quick Look At The CTP Project (ClickTrackProfit)
When I made my "Evergreen List of Communities on HIVE" post last October, I kept it pinned on my profile and update it when I hear from community leaders that are well respected across the network. This was so that anyone who is new (or even more experienced) to HIVE has a point of reference to find a community full of like minded people that would interest them!
At the end of October 2020, @jongolson left a comment to include the CTP Community on that post and so I thought I'd give a quick overview of all I'm aware of what's going on as there's plenty of activity at the moment!
ClickTrackProfit
As you can see from his comment, CTP is all about entrepreneurship and bringing business to the blockchain and breaking down complex topics into simple ones. This second point resonated with me as that's what I like doing with the Havey's Guides and my general ramblings about crypto on my blogs - keeping complex things simple!
Hive Guide
The Hive Guide that's mentioned is a free-to-register online training course for anyone who wants to learn about Hive - just register with an email address and away you go:
ClickTrackProfit
The ClickTrackProfit site is a dedicated resource to simplify affiliate marketing to help entrepreneurs across a variety of industries and provide training to them.
HivePay
If I recall, this is a WordPress plugin that was developed by CTP to faciliate payments for those who want to sell merchandise to Hive followers and offers a variety of payment options in HIVE and H-E tokens, as well as other crypto.
CTP Token
This is the token that backs the whole project which currently operates on a "Proof-of-Brain" type interface where content that's posted on the site or with the #ctp tag can earn tokens if it fits their criteria - check the CTP Talk website here. Much like how we use Hive, LEO and other tokens, you can stake them and vote on content for curation rewards.
CTPSB Token
There's a second token with CTP called CTPSB - Swarm Booster that I heard about yesterday which I wasn't sure about so I asked and got a response that answered everything!
So my understanding of the concept is, @ctpsb is the "curation account" a bit like how @leo.voter works where content chosen by the curators is supported in HIVE and in CTP. This then allows the HP grows with curation and author rewards and it all compounds over time. That HP can also be used to claim account tokens of course so more entrepreneurs and businesses can join HIVE through CTP seamlessly. The CTPSB token can just be held and it will gain value over time - pretty cool!
You can delegate HP to @ctpsb to earn weekly CTP tokens - last week had an APR of 35% according to the latest report although this is variable - that's impressive!
Staking Contest
At the moment (until 22nd February 2021), there is a staking contest going on where everyone is being encouraged to stake their CTP tokens with a prize of 100 CTPSB tokens to be distributed out across all who enter - just head on over to the link earlier in the sentence and register your interest, stake CTP and good luck!
Brofund Support
I check the announcements in the @brofund discord since I joined a few months ago and when I saw this announcement from @raymondspeaks, there was an immediate buzz around CTP and hopefully Jon was able to breathe properly after reading that bit underlined in red below!
I'll certainly be keeping an eye out to see if Raymond actually does appear in CTP's next video haha! Joking aside, getting the nod from Brofund is quite a big deal and I'd say it lead to a lot more eyes on CTP and the project as a whole since. Jon has been doing a pretty epic job with the project and has been through a lot over the last few years - if any of you read his "Started At Zero post then you'd get hit in the feels as well.
Final Thoughts
Personally, I feel CTP is still flying under the radar on HIVE at the moment but they are really building some incredible tools and have their target market nailed down. If you just follow Jon and CTPSB accounts, you'll feel the good vibes like with Leo too - when you see updates and things getting rolled out regularly, you can't help but feel inspired and it's well worth keeping an eye on.
It's definitely hard to keep up with all that's going on with every project so I apologise if I'm missing some other intricacies of CTP, please let me know in the comments so others who read this can learn more about the project!
