Anyone Else Getting Involved With Power Up Day?
Isn't That Everyday?
OK, powering up or staking is something I pretty much do every day but I've been waiting for what feels like a year to power up some HIVE today. Why didn't I do it before? Well, one of my good friends who goes by the name of @traciyork has basically rallied the whole community together like a total "ledge-balls" (is that a thing?) and made the Power Up Day initiative a pretty special event.

Why Stake?
Staking or powering up is something I just like doing because of the compound effect and seeing something you've work towards grow itself and who knows where it will lead. Although prices of HIVE have taken a plummet this last month, I saw that as an opportunity to buy so I could grow the pot for the future. However, stake is also baked in to the rewards mechanism on Hive & the tokenised communities that are around such as LEO and so the whole thing just snowballs over time. Not only that but I'm also...
Eyeing Up The "Arnie-Bee"
You know me, I LOVE a badge and I'm not going to settle for anything less than that big f***er from @hivebuzz - look at it, clearly not missed wing day in it's life! Arnold Schwarzzzzzzzz:
I think I got some HIVE when it was at 590-640 sats (cheers for the bargain basement prices) on Huobi and just waited for them to accept withdrawals again. Then when they did, send it, stake it, put it to work! Turns out that was about 1,100 HIVE which should put me over the limit to get that Arnie badge!
Oh go on then, let's have a look at the total Hive Power as well!
So that's about 2k more added to the HIVE stake over the last month, no doubt a combination of the #hiveblopomo challenge that Traci also runs and all the leases I had going helped contribute. I don't really have any additional goals with the Hive stake, Orca (about 52k HP) was like that golden shiny target to reach and whale is going to take a million years to get to so will just let it grow - suppose 60k HP by Jan 1st would be cool but I'm planning on easing off a bit with posting and having some much needed offline time once we round off the Your Top 3 contest (will talk about that in another post).
Staking Hive Community Tokens
As for the other tokens around Hive, LEO is the one that's caught a lot of people's eyes and I've also been posting on LeoFinance as I had some goals I wanted to reach by the end of the year too. Orca is a bit more achievable on Leo with only needing to stake 820 LP or so and managed to get that the other day, which is cool, then to push on to 1,000 LP. With Power Up day, I had some spare HIVE left over and thought I'd grab some LEO for my troubles too:
That now puts me within 7 LP to get in the next few weeks so I might be OK!
Looking at the other tokens in Hive-Engine, I staked whatever I had and now have the following as my top few:
Comparing to last month, I have 20 more BRO, 750 more NEOXAG, 110 more PAL, 1,100 more CCC and started staking LOTUS and CTP too. BEE appears from payouts due to BRO holdings.
It will be interesting to see how things progress next month!
