Today I was watching with interest a news item that reminded me of an old movie called "The gods must be crazy", precisely thinking about the new proposal of 6 of the 7 most developed economies in the world (USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Germany and France), which intend to rethink the sanctions against Russia by admitting again the supply of gas and oil from that country but this time paying the price they determine.

I suppose that at a party of marijuana, tequila and fentanyl the leaders of the industrialized world took this curious decision, perhaps Boris Johnson, accustomed to this type of private festive events, came up with this idea: What do you think if we accept Putin's oil and gas again but we pay him the price we impose?

Let's see, they intend to pay $40 per barrel for an energy that costs the rest of the world more than $100. I understand that they hate Putin but from there to believing that the Russian leader is an idiot seems to me a lot of delusion from the West.

Let's apply logical thinking: if a customer with high needs for the product I am selling warns me that he will not pay me the full value of the product, then why am I going to sell it to him? It is stupid to think that Russia will accept this proposal, considering the fact that it is doing so well selling oil and gas to China and India at a more competitive price than the crumb offered by Europe.

Such a measure would make Russia definitively close the tap of gas and oil to Europe, while at the same time the international price of both energies would skyrocket to levels never seen before (more than $300 per barrel). It should be noted that the rest of the world's gas and oil producers do not have the capacity to satisfy more demand, while the USA exports very expensive gas to Europe and only accepts payment in dollars, a situation that does nothing to help the devalued euro to recover.

But if there is something dangerous in the world, it is the audacity of fools, because so much friction between people who hate each other never ends peacefully. The previous world wars started because of economic struggles between powers, the difference of the previous ones is that there are nuclear weapons in the backyard of the house of each of the fighters in the combat. I do not know if the war conflict can be avoidable, what is certain is that with economic sanctions and political stupidity nothing is solved, on the contrary, it is magnified.
