Recently I have been reading and comments a lot on Leo and I have discovered a few things which I will share with the community briefly.

Content discovery is difficult. There are days I find consuming content easy and there are days where I have to skimp through rolls of subpar content. Sometimes it is not about the quality of the content but my preference.

I believe everyone has a preference in respect to the type of content they like to consume. I mostly consume opinion posts about finance and cryptocurrency. I do not enjoy TA(technical analysis) content. This might not be the case for other people. Thus, wouldn't it be better if people could filter through contents and discover the type of content(s) they want to consume?

As the platform grows manual curate becomes inadequate. I doubt there is anyone who goes through more than 50posts per day. Now imagine there are 10,000 posts on Leo every day, does those one navigate through such a pile of content? As humans, we are prone to bias. Naturally, people will curate content from creators they know, this is the best coping mechanism in a situation where contents increase exponentially. It might not sound fair but that would be the case.

Using an algorithm to filter content will make curation better. For those who love to curate quality content or the content, they fancy it will make the whole experience seamless. Plus you get to discover new content creators who make similar content. This, to a degree, eliminates favoritism as curators can across a larger spectrum and the focus will be on the content and not the creator.

I believe an algorithm will increase engagement and the amount of time spent on the platform per person. So maybe this is something the developers would want to consider. Other centralized social platforms use this piece of technology to enhance the user experience, so I do not see any reason why we shouldn't explore such an option.

There is also a noticeable case of spammy content(s) on leofinance which can be eliminated by the use of an algorithm. Also, like I previously mentioned, using a social media algorithm can improve users' experience making it more personal and enjoyable.

I have come across the idea of decentralized AI and algorithms. I do not know how that works fully but it is worth investing in if you ask me. For a social platform, a lot of emphases is placed on improving users' experience. We are still not there as a community or blockchain.

There are some drawbacks to using algorithms. With a filtering system, it means certain contents will be censored. My solution to this is making the use of the supposed algorithm an option. Do you want a better user experience? Or Do you want to do things chronologically and organically?

So I would like to know what the community thinks about using an algorithms on leofinance to filter contents. Share your thoughts in the comment section.
