The bull run is an exciting time in any industry. Enthusiasms high and the gains seem endless. Someone said the other day that you can pick at random any project at this point and stand a chance of making twice your investment.

We recently had a bloodbath in the crypto market which dampened the spirit of a few but many are still bullish--I am. I don't think we are anywhere near the top, and even if we are we can hold this position for another 6-12months.

The two projects I am betting on this year (Leo and Hive) are yet to do the numbers I expect. That for me is an indicator that we are not there yet. I might be wrong but I am sticking to that narrative.

Anything is possible but be careful… be very careful.

I have read the many stories of those who lost 90% of their investment during the last bear run. Things are a lot different now compared to then when all you heard were sob stories and many regrets.

*Don't be that guy…

The best way to learn is from other people's experiences but that's not the route most of us choose to follow. We let the excitement get into our heads and we throw caution to the wind.

I am sure no one here wants to lose 50-60% of their portfolio when things start moving downwards. It is a feeling that would haunt you till the next market cycle. Many don't last that long.

I know people who sold it all during the bear market. They were fed up with the lows and the promises of a bull run that never came (when they expected it). Those same people are kicking themselves again seeing all the positive things that have occurred in this space in the last 2-3 months.

*Again, don't be that guy.

This is why I am not chasing the money. Don't get me wrong I am investing, even in projects outside hive. I have plans to even get into a few more to diversify my portfolio.

However, I am also making sure I have my safety net and investment out of this space that would keep me going even when the bear kicks.

The goal is not to be risk-averse but to manage risk and spread risk evenly. The goal is neither to lose too much nor even gain too much. Even if I get to gain too much it should be unexpected via an airdrop or something.

I MIGHT BE WRONG.

The beautiful thing about all i have said is that it could be wrong. There are no rights or wrong here. It is best you follow what you want and take responsibility for whatever happens. I have made some decisions during the past few years that might seem counterintuitive but i would do them all again if i had the chance.
